I think these guys have a shit ton of potential that hasn't been fully realized yet. It's the frequent cringe-worthy lyric that has stopped me from fully diving in.

El-P and Killer Mike!

Osheaga is doing a run of smaller outdoor concerts at the Lachine canal, I guess as a lead up to the big festival.
Cool idea, but looks to be pretty expensive for the National or the XX/Grizzly Bear co-bill.

I'm kinda pissed this tour isn't coming near me. And I'm interested to hear who is going to be in the band.
"hello friends! i have put together a special band of some of my oldest pals to help bring this album to life on the road! we are very excited about it and cant wait to bring it to light! see ya out on the open road!" -
topic definitely merits 2 threads in the top 5

You can't start a fire,
You can't start a fire without my dick
This gun's for hire
Even if we're just dancing in my dick.

Tame Impala got moved to Metropolis almost immediately after the show was announced.

There's not really one good comprehensive source for listings here. Cult Mtl (run by the former Mirror staff) is probably the closest, but the format is pretty bad - http://cultmontreal.com/events/ .
I usually just browse the promoters' pages.

Oh and one other note, I don't know if anybody has the Fear Fun vinyl, but there's a novel inside. Literally a novel in tiny print in the liner notes.

Is Aljee still in the band?

Who was the band that had the Thursday night residency at the same time Nero had Tuesdays?
Was it the Frank James Experiment? Those guys were awesome.

Sometimes life would be easier if everyone knew and adhered to that system.

I was surprised to find this sold out when I arrived at show time last night. I saw the Walkmen in a smaller venue 2 years ago and it was far from sold out. Waited about 20 minutes out front before finding an extra, so I miss almost half of the Misty set. They were full band and full of awesomeness. Really enjoyed what I saw of their set.
Walkmen were great too. Especially the new songs, which means I should really revisit their latest release.

Second question - anybody know if Father John Misty tours with a band, or is just Tillman solo?

Anybody planning to check out this tour tonight/tomorrow in Montreal/Toronto?

Highlight for me this year was Divine Fits at the tiny Il Motore as an Osheaga after-party, followed by Tame Impala's set at Osheaga itself.
Other memorable shows were Springsteen at Scotiabank Place, Radiohead at Bell Centre and the couple times I saw the Wooden Sky.
Probably the most intense (but not necessarily great) show I experienced was the Tim Hecker and Stephen O'Malley (Sunn o)))) drone-fest at St. James United Church as part of MUTEK.

Did NW delete some praise for Good Old War in this thread, or am I imagining things?

Did anyone else notice fake Eddie Vedder before he actually came out? Was it him or just a rock god body double?
I read that Vedder would be singing with Waters so I tuned in and for a few seconds I watched and I thought to myself' date=' wow, I have not seen what Eddie Vedder looks like in a long time, and in HD he looks kinda like Tigger. Then the real Eddie came out. haha :bonghit: [/quote']
This was amazing. I thought there was a Hebner brothers screw job going on or something.

Good weekend for concerts in Montreal and Toronto. Anybody hitting either of these shows?
