  1. Last time they played at the starlight I was hard into the triple rum and cokes. I was really drunk. I know eventually my wife got me into the car and two hours later she was kicking me and saying angrily "you're home, get out of the car"

  2. It has taken a lot out of the game. I'd like to see it scraped. It makes no sense that some plays they can use it, like your example, and others can't (balls and strikes) They can over rule a close play on the bags but a pitch can be a mile out of the strike zone, and get called a strike and this is not reviewable. Stupid. The umps making occasional mistakes was part of the game.

  3. Instant replay in baseball sucks. I liked it better when mangers rushed out spitting mad to argue calls, rather than walking out and just asking for a review and walking back to the dugout.

I was watching the Giants game last night, one review took 4min 35sec or there abouts. Now, if they had some cheerleaders, out there shaking it during a review, then maybe it would be ok. But they don't. It makes the game slower. Baseball does not need to be made any slower. Unless there were cheerleaders. Then it would be ok.

  4. Not to highjack this thread too much, but my dad had a 1973 Mercury Comet, and it was the greatest thing ever:

The whole thread is a hijack, I wouldn't worry about it.

Our LeMans was a 73 I believe and it was blue. Man I loved listening to Kenny Rogers in that thing.

  5. I used to Listen to Let it Bleed, Kenny Rogers and the Beach Boys on 8 track when I was a kid. Was the stuff the first peaked my interest in listening to music.

We also had a cobra cb radio in our Pontiac leMans, my handle was motormouth.

  6. I totally understand and respect record collecting but please' date=' it's not "a vinyl." [/quote']

i call my CDs plastic now. "Hey bro, did you get that new plastic by that band? Sick."

I didn't get the plastic, I just downloaded the 1's and 0's version. It was ok, but it sounds way better in the miniaturized soundwave version that I listened to over at my brah's place on that sweet portable Crosley that he picked up at Urban Outfitters last week.

  7. Same thing I say to people who complain about peoples facebook posts (ie. what I ate for supper and hey look how beautiful my kids are), you don't like it, keep scrolling, your life will continue. :)

Vinyl is fun and it's fun to talk about. The medium does matter.

I think rdio is awesome as hell too, small subscription fee and easy access to mostly everything that gets released without going through the hassle of downloading it. I'll never give up digital but it's just not the same as putting on a record. There is something special about it, that is totally unpretentious. I also find it really neat, that it's the soundwaves, encoded into the vinyl. So if something happened, like a giant solar flare, and everyones hard drives got zapped, I could still find a way to amplify those sound waves and listen to music. It's a romance.

I've had so many hard drive crashes and had to recreate my digital collection, it was nearly enough to drive me insane. Vinyl will always be there, unless I burn my house down.

  8. i am excited that my new DBT record just showed up. looking forward to listening to it tonight! with some whiskey :)

Mine arrived last week, I was away in New Brunswick though so I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. Maybe tonight.

    Great thread idea btw.

Here's a link to my instagram. I haven't done it too much lately but I have a ton of photos of my albums up there, should anybody be interested in checking them out.

  9. Jay, have you noticed how small some of those venues they are playing this summer?

    ie. This section:

    uly 29 - 30 @ nTelos Music Pavilion - Portsmouth, VA (Capacity - 6,500)

August 1 @ Amphitheatre at the Wharf - Orange Beach, AL (Capacity - Approximately 10,000)

    August 2 @ Oak Mountain Amphitheatre - Pelham, AL (Capacity - 9,936)

    August 3 @ Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre - Alpharetta, GA (Capacity - 12,000)

I think you are probably right though, I doubt we will see Phish back anytime soon. Maybe Montreal or something some day would be really cool.

  10. Is Wes Freed going to do a poster for the show? If he does, I want one. Have I mentioned you're effing awesome? Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you. It's going to be a sell out, congrats man. You must be really proud of yourself. Good on ya! Planning on an opening act?
