  2. I wear Acuvue Oasys, and I think they're pretty good. They don't get too dry, cause I tend to have that probem when I smoke. ;)

I also like them because if you have to sleep in them for a night or two, they don't kill your eyes like most contacts do. I can't stand touching my eyes with dirty hands when I'm camping, so it doesn't bother me to leave them in a few nights.

You just have to practice putting them in and out. It really is easy after you're used to it. I can do it without looking in a mirror!

I've been wearing contacts since I was 12! I didn't even own a pair of glasses til a few years ago! I wonder what kind of damage it's done to my eyes!

  3. Captain sunshine and Baj it would be very cool to get that same sight or the ones yourn friends had ,Bag 'o buz is a danger.

I don't know if we'll be able to secure that awesome spot again. The only reason we got it was because we got there 4 days early and Rich snagged it after they directed him to another spot.. And we can't get there that early this year!

So we're playing it by ear this year..

Oh and better start preparing for the bag o buzz cause I'm sure there will be quite a few going around!

On another note, remember the outta-nowhere-all-night-disco party last year? There was a huge disco tent with light projections on the ceiling, 2 huge disco balls (and some little ones too), fire dancers, fire eaters, sword swallowers, a dj pumping disco, a light show, freaks, freaks, and more freaks!!

I hope they're there again this year!

  4. Question, do we need to reserve a site if we're gonna be there a few days early?

You don't have to reserve a site if you get there early.. They might direct you to a specific site right when you get there, but if you don't like it, wait about a half hour and move.. They never catch on.. That's how we got our awesome site last year! Ha!

Our friends from Cincinnati are planning on getting there early Wednesday, and I think they're gonna look for a spot near where we were last year or down along the way y'all were, Joni.. I'll tell them to look for ya once they're set up cause they're cool folks, you might of met them last year..

I'm not sure when we're going to get there, but we're sooooo pumped!!!!!! :)

Can't wait to see ya there, Schwa and Joni and Kev!!

Oh and Joni, that coffee wagon that sold the weekend wristbands was at Rhythmfest, so I'd most definitely expect them at this fest! ;)

  5. The Biscuits just announced their 5-night New Year's Eve run at the Nokia Theatre in Times Square, NYC..

I was hoping for their Jersey circus again, but looks like they're trying to keep it simple this year. I've seen them a few NYE's at Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan, but never at Nokia Theatre.. I've seen DSO there, and I'm wondering why they would scale down in size from Hammerstein. Oh well!

After several years away from the Big Apple on New Years Eve, The Disco Biscuits have decided to bring the party back to New York City with a five night new years run at the Nokia Theatre Times Square. What better place to celebrate New Years than Times Square in NYC!

Tickets will go on-sale at Bisco Tix on August 8 and to the general public on August 15.

  6. A few weekends ago, Baj's parents came to visit and we take those opportunities to take them somewhere we've never gone so we can learn even more about our amazing home..

We took them to the Cradle of Forestry in the Pisgah National Forest.. I learned so much there! It was set up on the actual spot where George Vanderbilt set up the U.S. Forestry Service that eventually went into effect for the entire United States. It was super interesting, and there was even a trail that led throughout the canyon where the original log cabins that housed the students as well as the original classroom and other memorabilia scattered about.

    Here are some pictures!

    It was a hazy day!
