  2. Happy belated, glad you had a good one! I turn 29 this year, and I can't say I'm looking forward to the 30's... It feels like such an imporant age, when I should "straighten up" and "get my shit together". Boo to that, as Tom Waits beautifully croons: I don't wanna grow up...

  3. To nip this in the bud, the answer is yes, it was taped by Karl (I think Pete was running his gear as well, but I'm not sure). It might be awhile before this surfaces (a month or more), but I'll be sure to offer it up as soon as I get a copy... So please, no grovels for a couple of weeks? Thanks

By the way, I am honestly interested in seeing if anyone taped the Toronto gig... Neither Pete nor Karl were there... I didn't see anyone's mics set up, but you never know... Hopefully it will make it out, it was a great set by the D&T boys...

  4. "Move over, Partridges - the Trachtenburgs are poised to snag the title of America's favorite musical family." - The New York Post

Short show tonight, but they did NOT disappoint... Hilarious, fun, good and entertaining, they played the 2 songs I was hoping for most: Middle America and Eggs. Got to meet the band afterwards as well, super nice people... They even autographed my poster! The CD I got is very well done as well, picked up a t-shirt too... I love these guys, weird to think they played Bonnaroo... Good times...

  5. Have a good time tonight guys! Me and Alexis were really sitting on the fence for this show, but as soon as I heard Trachtenburg was playing Toronto my mind was made up... The MTL gig should be VERY interesting though. May this year is proving to be a tough month to make all the shows I want to...

  6. Another solid set tonight, a little bigger crowd which was definately appreciative... No sleep for me during the D&T run... Thanks to those who made it fun: Alexis!!! Thanks for everything during these trying two days... Drums & Tuba for blowing my mind 2 nights in a row! Greg & Paisley, another solid effort. Pete & Tasha, great to party with you in a non-nero environment... shainhouse for driving our sorry asses to The Casbah on Wednesday night. Kung and your ever-understanding better half. MamaRed, nice to meet you. Briguy, M, Chickenbutter420, and all the rest of you clowns, what a two night run... Thanks again to anyone/everyone involved... bed-time for me, I gotta work at 11am...

  7. Not to be a dick, but it's been a week. If you want a copy of something that hasn't been "cleaned up", I'm sure something could be sent your way from someone. Why not wait a little while, let the tapers do their thing, and wait for the B&P/trade offers... It is well established that, yes, Bela was taped. Grovelling a week after the show has been taped is really in poor taste, especially since another thread was already devoted to this... Chill out, the tunes will be spread when they are ready to be spread...

  8. After hearing he was coming to CTMF, I decided to check out his website to see what he's all about... Wow! I might end up going to CTMF plus a couple of his local shows after seeing/hearing what he does! Check out http://that1guy.com/ and check out his video page. "One" is absolutely amazing (getting constant rotation around my house since I first saw it), and the news clip below it shows the variety of styles of music we can expect at CTMF. His Canadian dates are:

    5/22 Come Together Music Festival

    5/23 London ONT - Elements

    5/25 Guelph ONT - Trasheteria

    5/26 Peterborgh ONT - Thrasheteria

5/28 Hamilton ONT - Pepper Jacks

CTMF, Guelph and possibly Peterborough for me... Who knows, I might make it to London as well... That 1 Guy opened up for Drums & Tuba for a whole tour in the States, and if you like them you should check him out. His album's called Songs In The Key Of Beotch, which is hilarious as well... The Sloth described the vocals as Zappa-ish, but it's all about the Magic Pipe... Check him out, you'll be intrigued if nothing else...

  9. My first concert was Lollapalooza '91, my best friend was into almost every band on the bill, and had slowly gotten me interested in Jane's Addiction and Nine Inch Nails0. I was already into a lot of rap at the time, so Ice-T (with Bodycount!!! ::) was a good enough reason to go for me. Jane's, NIN, Ice-T/Bodycount, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Living Color, Rollins Band and Butthole Surfers... Needless to say, I was, for the most part, blown away...

On a side note, Lollapalooza '92 had it's share of good music as well. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ministry, Ice Cube, Soundgarden, The Jesus And Mary Chain, Pearl Jam and Lush. Peppers sucked it up, I left during their last song. Ministry BLEW MY MIND... Amazing set, so much intensity. Ice Cube kicked ass. This was before he had any big hits, the crowd cleared out before his set and I got right up front. Ice Cube was the shit as far as I was concerned, and this was definately the highlight of the show for me, as well as the main reason I went. Soundgarden played Cop Killer, which was cool, Jesus & Mary Chain were ok, Pearl Jam played well, but I still hate them all the same, and Lush were boo... We got hammered on the bus ride up. Good times...
