  1. Ok, how 'bout this...

    THE SUPERSONG.

A-la Greyfolded, a 1 disc reconstruction of a single phish song with several versions melted together.

    My vote: GHOST

    The guts of my GHOST:

    9-12-99

    5-22-00

    6-15-00

    12-13-97

    12-11-97 (audience source for consistency)

    7-30-99

    OTHER POSSIBLE INCLUSIONS:

4-4-98 (maybe just the introduction to it "this next song is radio UNFRIENDLY...")

8-2-97 (don't have it but remember it being particularly sick)

    11-21-97

I have outstanding audience recordings of all of the above except the Gorge show (8/2), on either DAT or CD. I have SBDs of the Rochester and Fuji Fest 7-30-99. If you're up for the challenge, drop me a line, I'll hook you up.

  2. Ok, so who's got copies then? Hope someone else was taping it.

Nero lads, I'd love to get some of the recent stuff you've played if you can do it in SHN or audio or DAT format (I'd really be interested in grabbing that last Ottawa show with Homestyle too). If one of you could email me and give me some details on how we might work that out I'd be very grateful. I could definately lend a hand in getting stuff spread around.

    Thanks!

  3. I'm with ya on the SO GOod. In terms of veggie food, that's where it's at. The Woo Shui veggies are the bomb.

Another good choice is Northern 2, further down the road. Get the veggie dumplings and ask for spicy peanut sauce on top. You won't regret it.

I'll be arriving in the 'morrow, and will be chowing down on some dank chinese asap.

    See y'all on the 22nd.

  4. indeed, a good run of shows (did 12-11,12,13). In honor of the anniversary of this event, I'd like to offer up wonderful SBD copies of the show to a few people who'd like copies. Fits on 2x80 cdr. First 3 to email me at embassyinternational@yahoo.com will get tha goods.

  5. Hey,

I guess it all depends on how much you want to spend, what types of shows you want to tape, etc. etc. etc.

It's best to look at investing in taping gear as something you do right the first time, or you'll end up spending a bunch of money constantly upgrading your shit. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the MD recorder (nor are most tapers), but going to dat also has its own issues. The biggest problems with MD are the length of tapes (74 mins, 80 max) and the compression they use in storing data (same gripe as people have for MP3s). I'm not going to go too far into it cause it's this ongoing debate that people have.

Regarding mics though, I would definately suggest going for the higher end stealth mics instead of the lower end ones. In the end you'll be so much happier that you did, and you won't find yourself wishing for better gear 2 months down the road. The core sound high-end mics use DPA 4060 capsules which are GREAT. The thing is, you could also get the caps alone for about 650 Canadian if you prefer (directly from a Danish Pro Audio distributor). This way you're not getting all the modifications and whatnot though. Your call I guess.

In short, save up and do it right the first time, and you'll be happy you did.

    Good luck!

  6. I think it's just over 1 gig. in SHN format. Not small, that's for damn sure.

If this sounds do-able (even if you were to put up set 1 for a week, then set 2 for another week), let me know and we'll make the Bouches the #1 and #2 men on the list. I'd still like to make the "snail mail" option available for those who don't have the ultra-zippy net connections (like me at this point frown.gif" border="0 ).

At any rate, keep me posted.

  7. I'm going to offer up a few copies of the show, which I've now got in SHN format, for B&P. Here's the criteria: I'm incredibly busy right now and therefore have no time to set up a tree, do a bunch of copies, etc. Also, my dsl line is screwed and I can't upload faster than 5kbps, so sharing it is nearly impossible. THerefore, I'm going to look for people who can help spread the tunes.

I'll take 2 people, and each will have a different responsibility:

1- A person who will offer the show back onto this board in AUDIO format (not SHN).

2- A person who will share it around on Direct Connect, Etree, or a similar file-transfer type medium (DC preferred).

I'll also consider one more if you were at the show and have neither a burner nor high-speed internet access.

Reply in this thread and let me know which you can do. Hope this'll work out ok.

BTW, source is Neumann KM140>EAA PSP3>AD1000>D8

    Later!
