Oh for pete's sake...
And I like that you care. Here's to seeing something special in people that we've lost. I swear I wasn't arguing or correcting you.
My apologies for looking like a shallow twit even if it was only for a moment (or always).

Its a sad thing when it happens to anyone
It's sad for those who loved that person. We all die. Here's hoping there was at least a moment of calm and quiet just up to the end.

I always thought you could run 32bit processes in x64.
Oh well, computer's gone.

Isn't there already a thread about this somewhere already?

glad I'm not the only one.

what's worse...also thinking this would be about Velvet's protective cup or that I wanted to see?

you're into alternative economy (ie barter systems), I'm sure that you'd find folks willing to trade services for your work. Especially if it's that good.
Plumbers and contractors are great to have credits with in a pinch.

Good Luck!

I must say, sober on the lawns at the Molson Amphitheatre left me wishing I'd bought a better ticket.
Awesome for an arena I'm sure.

Guess I snoozed.

Even more exciting since I probably won't be making it to this. Feck.
Anyway, thanks for the '45 minutes' tip, AD.

I'm surprised that you all are going along with the misnomer that there's 'planning' involved at city hall. What's the PLAN? Sure, there's probably a path that the city is taking, but a PLAN it's not. How could it be? I think the 'plan' is to let developers make the choices and direct the design and infrastructure here. Looking at the European model here, aren't many European (continental and otherwise) historic city centers closed off from automotive traffic (saving, of course, delivery trucks and taxis?), creating a sense of something special?
Remember what happened last time Ottawa moved forward with a significant plan? Light rail? The mayor was dethroned and the plan was kyboshed.
City hall seems to be more reactionary than they should be and not at all proactive.
Carleton County: Yes!

Gotta get there early on Wednesday I guess.
Here's to clear weather on Hump Day.

What a great wrap up for the end of a warm autumn.
Here's to the nice surprises I find on the internet.
Thanks for the heads' up!

How early am I going to have to show to get a good seat for Neko Case?

mmmm...what about Cherie Curie? Cherry Bomb (the runaways) was fucking awesome.
I think that if you're going to say 'ever' then you should probably exclude '75-'79 cause I doubt she's outdoing any riot grrl spirit that swept her up in the 90's.
Nice Ric, Courtney.

re: Playstation CD quality...
...the output sound is distorted *ever so slightly* and is pleasing to many people. As far as it being 'better', if you're looking for clean high quality representation, look elsewhere. Chances are, most everyone that would read this post would like it - though if you're used to listening to music with audiophile gear then adding a PS1 might not fit with the design motif of your stand...which may be important to you (not me)
If you want your music to sound 'louder' then step to it..and if you don't have a CD component then I say go for it!
As far as vinyl being 'collectible' as its draw I must say that's truly disappointing to think about it like that, when a vinyl record begins a direct representation of the voltage signal through the equipment rather than an encoded data set.
Much like how a piece of cellulose photographic film is a moment in time recorded for posterity, the vinyl record is certainly real. You can play one with a pin on a cup and a turntable top. Can't do that with a CD.
+1 on the superCD. Those things are amazing.

Every time I've listened to the Boss on satellite radio all the bootlegs sounded like crushed glass and jingle Bells...Here's hoping that Santa will bring you something to redeem that if the internet doesn't, NW.

here's a link to a pdf that points out quite a bit that the senate overlooked as it ignored its role as the conscience of our Government.
Discussion Paper from nhppa.org
The bill was passed into law awhile back but perhaps the Natural Health Products Protection Association will get some steam and suspend this unnecessary statute with enough support from concerned Canadians, as it opens up quite a bit for a corrupt politician to sell us out even more.

Protectionism is the most important thing we've spat on time and time again.

if by 'into' you mean mostly or only use cast iron pans and pots then not me, but I have a great enameled cast iron dutch oven and the required frying pan.
If I needed more cookware Cast Iron would be on my list along with high quality stainless. Loads of companies are making great affordable cast iron cookware (Ikea, Kitchen Aid)) to try to get some customers that would buy more 'le creuset' if they could bring themselves to fork over $300 for a heavy as hell pan.
I think for me the measure of a good cast iron pan is the size of its handle and if it's really big a second small stabilizing handle for 2 handed carrying and pouring. Names and stamps are really unimportant to myself or most people that just need to USE those pots.
You don't need somebody else's seasoning when you can do it yourself. When you're done cooking, make sure the pan is good and hot and clean it under running hot water (run the tap) and use a brush to scrub away the now steam cleaned food, put back on residual heat to dry it off and wipe with oil so you never have to wash with soap and to save time later. If you have a sprinkler setting on your tap, this is a good use for it.
If you skip this step at the end of cooking you're gonna have to reheat your pan to repeat those steps.
If you're going to continue to be particular about this, you can go a couple of routes.
If you're a vegan or need to keep veggie kosher (don't let meat or animal touch certain pans) then try to season with coconut or avocado oil as they have the highest smoke points. So when you get that pan really hot it'll burn less.
If you're neither then use clarified butter. It'll taste better and won't go rancid like some oils will. If you can't clarify butter to save your life then buy some ghee (same thing) at the grocery store (most food basics) FOR $8 a pound. It's worth it if you think you'll overcook it, unless you're buying loss leader $2 butter. Does that ever happen anymore?
FWIW, that's a bit extreme for most people, myself included..But if you're INTO it...
