  1. Hahaha.

I sent it out to everybody at my work. Then the CEO of the company, me and this russian guy from work went around watching people looking at it, just waiting for the BOOM BABY!!!!! THen it would be high fives all around, until we hear the scream coming from down that hall again.

  2. Tune in this Friday night for a live to air audio broadcast/webcast of the show at Alfies in Kingston! The show can be found at www.queensu.ca/cfrc-streamed on RealPlayer, or via Shoutcast web servers at www.jmccann.ca, or on the CFRC Queens University radio program "Live Art" at 101.9 FM in Kingston.

As well, tune in this Wednesday night at 10:00 to CFRC for an interview with Jeff, and again the Wednesday after the show for an in studio interview/performance with the band.

  3. Joel Ironstone writes: "A new Canadian levy will be introduced in 2003 on all recordable media (pdf). The magnitude of these tariffs is staggering: $1.23 for all CD-RW's, $2.27 on all DVD-R's, and get this: $21 for each gigabyte of storage on portable MP3 players. That's an extra 160 dollars for a Nomad." Like in the U.S., this tax is collected and given directly to the record industry, a governmental subsidy for no apparent societal benefit.

  4. "The Trey Anastasio Band will close out a festival in southern Tennessee

held June 21 - June 23 at the conclusion of their tour. Other rumored acts

for the huge three day festival include, but are not limited too: String

Cheese Incident, Soulive, moe., Widespread Panic, Phil and Friends, Gov't

Mule and Robert Randolph and the Family Band. Confirmation should be

    available in 8 days - see www.bonnaroo.com."

  5. Dont forget to mention Phil is also scheduled for this event.

Seems like its just going to be a big giant Woodstock with most likely many of the different bands tours all converging right in the middle (Tennessee) for this big (late-June==>you heard it here first) show.

  6. Ive never been to Barrymores before, kinda weird eh? Anyways, I'm hoping to tape the Mississipi all stars show on Tuesday. The band say they allow taping, just wondering if I should expect any weirdness from the venue, because they probably arent that used to "tapers".

Also, I don't have mic stands, yet, is there any good places to hang mics around there, say, a balcony or something?

    Also, who else is going?

  7. Just wondering if there is any interest in ride sharing to and from the Burt show next Friday at Alphie's in Kingston. If there is I can rent a car/van depending on numbers and if we all share the cost if could be a cheap trip. Thinking of leaving Friday after work from Ottawa, returning Saturday early afternoon-ish.

If interested reply here then we can start working out the details.

  8. I just thought of something hilarious that we could try if all this isn't able to be worked out, which it probably can be just by discussion, but this would be funnier especially if they noticed what we were up to.

Next time theres a band we really want to record at the Dekcuf, we just figure out how many of us "snoutermen" it would take to get $300, then we pay that to the bar for the recording and we all have our own snouts and order nothing from the bar, and yet they notice that we are still very very drunk.

So many funny things we can try to do, but I think double B mentioned something about something about they might not like our crowd. Might be partially do to the large amount of nugs we puff downstairs in the hallway.

  9. The other funny part is just the week before they said I could have digital SBD patches anytime I wanted as long as it was ok with the band. They must have noticed us having fun on Tuesday night taping and decided they wanted to put an end to it, thats what I call, flip-flopping on the issues.

Anyways, I've been breaking "venue rules" since 1989 and I don't plan on stopping now. It just won't be as convenient to tape.

One thing I noticed about the Dekcuf on Tuesday and Thursday nights is that the Nugget crew was 99% of the people in the bar. That means that Nugget Productions brought in the entire audience. Does that means that the places would have been empty if not for our crazy little group or what?

There is no need for bands/people to boycott this bar. Its still a nice room. Its just starting to look like the people running it are assholes IMO. So, instead of boycotting, lets just fuck with them. For example, full snout policy is going into effect for me from now on in this room. Anytime there is a no-taping or other foolish rules, they wont get the $50 I spend on booze, like I did last night. Instead I'll just bring snouts and order mix. Heheheh.
