  1. so I got up at 4 and hit the road... clouds everywhere but I decided to go for it anyways... drove up around Guelph and hit some country roads for a while... around 5:30 I decided I was beat so I turned around to head home(had enjoyed myself driving around in the pre-dawn listening to Northern Lights on CBC)... made a wrong turn and couldn't believe it but dead ahead of me the full moon broke through the clouds... so I stepped on it and raced towards the break in the sky... as I came up to it I saw my first star of the night and was far too happy about the whole thing... so I tried to gauge my bearings, as from what I remembered the constellation of Leo is south-east in the morning... having figured this out(maybe) I navigated myself to where I figured was northwest of the hole in the clouds, found a cool really dark stretch of road and pulled over... hopped out and smiled at the 2 stars I could see... suddenly, there was a Leonid! it flew down and to the left(reminded me of a firefly)... 245 years or something making its way to light up the sky for a second... I couldn't believe it and jumped up and down... stood out for 20 more minutes but the cloud hole filled up again and that was it...

not much of a spectacle but I had fun... chasing tornadoes must be a kick... [smile]

  2. Ahhh, they're(Casbah) managing to sink their own ship just fine. No point being mad. Derek just has no idea what to do, he's not much of a music fan. He doesn't really get it. Once Chris B left so did the last remnant of the old La Luna integrity. The crowd is drifting to Pepperjacks and other bars. The Casbah is turning into something that has nothing to do with the old La Luna. But thats fine.

    Rock the Pepperjacks [smile]

  3. Awesome...

Jonas is the man and I've been a huge Diesel Dog fan ever since we collectively did a Vulcan mind-meld in the saloon last summer. [Cool]

    truly good news! [smile]

Diesel Dog @ Pepperjacks sound like a really good idea to anyone else?

  4. Peace to you brother. Your friend has found it.

    We all have our day.

A long walk in the forest or a good drunk in a bar where you don't know anyone can be good at such times.

Never feel bad for expressing yourself when you need to.

Grateful Dead. Strange name for a strange band with strange fans who care.

Live life fully. Happy prayers for Howard. You lucked into knowing him.

Echo of MarcO... I'm sorry for your loss.

see you tonight if you're out...

  5. Thanks very kindly Mr. H...

Now to build a satellite dish out of tinfoil and a stripped transistor radio.

    [smile]

I figure there must be some deep spiritual message for me contained in the Madboutyou or Nanny episodes. Hmmm, hellwiththat, time to get out the pans and find someone with cable.

  6. Yays... Noem... I like Noem... [smile]

He was actually quite charming and humorous while spinning his tales of impending doom. Wouldn't have mattered if I told ya, was sold out the first hour on sale. The only reason I got to go was because that figure skating/modeling, lived all over the world because her dad's a diplomat girl asked me out to see it with her. (???) Must've been that box of Lucky Charms I ate.

    Conan O'Brien.......

my tv guide interpretations are very rusty and instead of taping TOO I got one episode of Mad About You and one of The Nanny. [Frown]

lol... I actually kind of busted a demented sort of a gut when I saw what I ended up with.

  7. After searching for tv listings for 20 minutes I've discovered its on Global from 12:30 - 1:30... apperently my tv watching skills have gotten rusty... now, how do you program the vcr again?

off to the fat cats tonight @ the casbah after going to listening to Noam Chomsky at the university (banking the vcr won't let me down)

  8. Just a shout to everyone who helped make Friday night in Hamilton such a great event. Special kudos to all those who actually treked in from out of town. Half of any show is the crowd and the good folk were out in force.

Great band, great crowd, great venue... very lookin forward to the next one. To the best of my knowledge, every Thurs at Pepperjacks is now jam orientated starting with the institution that is Doug Feaver this week.

Talked to the Collective after the show and they were as blown away as most of the audience. Lots of talk about Wassabi booking their tour next year to include a Frontier Town show or 2. [Cool]

Very nice to meet a some new(to me) people off Jambands. Keep it crazy, Mr. Pinchy.

    Have a great week! [smile]

  9. We all go sometime. Its just as likely that it'll be untimely as it is that you'll grow to be an old codger. One positive thing about cancer(I know that doesn't sound feasible) is that you at least get a time to prepare yourself and those around you. I had a close friend lose her parent in a car accident a couple of weeks ago and she was robbed of the opportunity to say goodbye and express her inner feelings.

I guess the moral is live each day as well as you are able and let those you care about know that you do. We're all here on borrowed time. I always try to go out and do some things that make me me when I lose someone close(after I climb out of the whiskey bottle). It seems like a worthy tribute to those who no longer have the opportunity to live to live well in their honor.

    Peace and best wishes.

  10. how come I have 4 stars and I only stopped lurking and contributing last week...

must be a be sweet to the fresh blood sort of thing, or else, from my virginal experience, its say every crazed, unwellthoughtout thought that comes to your mind when you pop in and somehow all the kind, crazed, magical folk here will like you for it...

    anyways, its a great board.

    tonight, I Wassabi !!!!

    [Eek!][Razz][Eek!]

    (therefore, now I take nap)

  11. Yeah, the game grows serious. I figure it'll just be a matter of time until "the land of the free" start sending their "homeland" police kicking in doors of all the kids making humorous photoshop pics and shipping them off to holding cells in Cuba.

I just heard on CNN that when the supposed Al'Qeuda members currently being held go to trial, that defence lawyers won't be allowed to ask the accused any questions. Nothing like a trial where you have no opportunity to defend yourself.

In a historic sense, we are entering interesting times. In a practical one, things are pretty spooky.

    Anyone going on this tour?
