Touche – Upcoming Events
We’re kicking things off tonight with open mic/jam. Last Wednesday was a blast and we’re expecting the same tonight. Perri is heading off to Brazil for a while so we’re sending him out in style. Hood Klass Perri jam on Phish, Sublime, moe., and more.
On Thursday Maple Music's newest sweethearts the Great Bloomers will grace the stage. The night features a solid list of support acts including Fast Reacter (ex and current members of Sailboats are White, Kilhuminzu, Circuit Breaker, Joel Elliot and the Thin Line, Bird Rentals, Our Father, Burning Love, Vatican Chainsaw Massacre, The Beatles and The Beatles of Hip Hop..... debut show!).
Friday we keep things rolling with The Dead Hookers (ex Dead Boys and High School Hookers) and Toronto’s Broomfiller. The Dead Hookers had to cancel their last show due to illness so we’re thrilled to have them back. Solid night of punk, rock, and sleazy guitar licks.
Saturday the Halfway Heroes and Skank Divine bring their big beats and reggae treats. Expect a decent blend of reggae, ska, fusion, dancing, good times. Only $2!

If you notice Espanola and The Northwest Division listed as support on their website it’s a mistake. That was the line up that was originally pitched but it didn’t work out and for some reason they thought it was confirmed.

Cavaliers! and Michelle Titian
@ Touche -- 19+ :: $5
http://www.myspace.com/thecavaliersmusic
If you haven’t seen the Cavaliers! please hit the link above and
give them a listen. They’re absolutely amazing. I can’t stop
listening to them. Michelle Titian is really awesome as well.
This is a pretty serious night of music. Hope to see some of
you out.
The Cavaliers - Indie / Country / Folk Rock
Influenced by artists such as Ryan Adams, Neko Case, Wilco,
Stars and Lucinda Williams, their male-female vocal
combination and country-influenced songs leave listeners
begging for more. These multi-talents, all hailing from
different genres of music, have come together to form
something unique and completely undeniable
Michelle Titian - Country / Folk / Pop
Her style cannot be classified as one single genre; it is a blend
of Country and Soulful Roots music. She uses country music as
a base and layers it with undertones of 60s soul and bluegrass.
With a voice reminiscent of the great pioneers of female vocal
legends such as Patsy Cline, Emmylou Harris, and K.D Lang,
It’s easy to lose yourself in her songs. Her exceptional voice
and incomparable presence can draw you out of your element
and into her world.
Michelle has been surrounded by music her entire life. Born
and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Michelle currently splits her
time between Hamilton and Nashville Tennessee. Her
songwriting is constantly evolving. As her life progresses and
she gains experience, it shows in her songwriting. Michelle's
combination of lyrics, music and stunning performances make
this new artist/singer-songwriter a powerful upcoming force in
the music industry.

As most of you know we've been having problems with heat at Touche. The contractors have been here around the clock. I was told it would be rectified yesterday and it wasn't. I just arrived at the venue and the heat is still blowing lukewarm air. I spoke with owner and we've decided to shut it down until we're 100% sure there aren't any more problems. Hopefully tomorrow or the next day. Sorry for the inconvenience but we'd rather every one keep warm and enjoy the show at a later date. Hopefully the band will be back at the beginning of January. chrs, bc

About FAT CATS
"It is hard to write something new about the Fat Cats because everything has been written about, discussed, and debated throughout the band's storied, decade-long history. Begun in 1993 in Hamilton, Ontario, the Fat Cats have changed personnel numerous times throughout the years, but their style, dedication to the scene, and sonic intensity has never wavered since their inception. Built on the solid foundation of Todd Gillies on guitar and lead vocals, Chris Gatchene on guitar and vocals, and Dave Hill on bass, the band has re-created their timeless originals and tasteful covers with many different singers, drummers, and keyboard players over the years while touring Canada and the United States and releasing two fantastic albums, Daredevil and Cruelty's Cure in the process. With the Fat Cats you get honest, no-bullshit folk rock night after night, regardless if they play a set of originals or an all cover tune set. With their incredible original tunes that beautifully mould rock, folk, country, and bluegrass into pure musical emotion, and constant tributes to The Band, the Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Buddy Holly and countless others, the Fat Cats are simply fantastic. By playing tunes like the traditional "Breadbox," their trademark celebratory original "You," or a beautifully crafted rendition of "Tangled Up In Blue," the Fat Cats provide what is often lacking in modern popular music--unbridled and passionate emotion. I have seen the band way too many times to count, and will continue to see them as long as they keep playing. To sum it up, the Fat Cats are the quintessential hometown band, and their shows are events where the whole town comes together to toast a band that has been through thick and thin, but still plays with a youthful enthusiasm night after night. Thursday December 11
The Northwest Division, w/ Harriet
@ Touche - Doors 9:00PM -- 19+ :: $3
33 Hess Street South, Hamilton, Hess Village
http://www.northwestdivision.com
http://www.myspace.com/northwestdivision
http://www.myspace.com/harrietofficial
Formed in Toronto, Ontario – though the friendships started
many years earlier in Prince Edward Island – this band is most
influenced by the simple sound of Neil Young and Crazy Horse
and the playful spontaneity of the Kinks. Peter Forbes (guitar,
lead vocals), Sheldon Kelly (bass, vocals), Mike Daley (guitar,
vocals) and Mike Mella (drums, vocals) came together after
years of working in different projects, happy to land on one
that just felt right.
Their approach is easygoing and uncomplicated, reflecting a
strong Canadian vibe. Forbes sums up the band’s dynamic:
“Writing with this band is different because it’s never a math
problem. It’s tall cans and good times and chicken wings
afterwards.â€
Pleased to release their first EP, Of Which I’m the Master, after
two years of performing live and writing music, the Northwest
Division has a catalogue that doesn’t try to be anything other
than songs they enjoy playing. Songs with heart. And when
asked about where they’re headed, Kelly explains: “Hopefully,
we’re headed into peoples ears.â€

wow! Absolutely amazing night. The band sounded sooo good and the house was packed. 3 killer sets and Terra Lightfoot has such a great voice. Really looking forward to next week with Julie Fader. Tom Wilson has been kicking around and i'm thinking he'll get up for a few at some point.
