I believe that the people of this country are worth dieing for. On the other hand I wouldn't sacrifice the dirt in my driveway for political agendas.

Wow!! Thanks. I really hope I can get in for Kaki King. I wonder how long it takes to find out if you made it in?

When I was a kid we had to copy live cassette tapes and trade them through the mail with people in other countries to get new music....
-
Just watched my VHS copy a couple weeks ago for the first time in years. I still love it as much as when I first saw it.

They seem to hit each generation in the same sort of fashion and yet people just don't (want to?) put 2 and 2 together.

Will Smith handing out free Scientology personality tests?? Are those like mood rings?

For that price you can look at it from across the room.
A year ago (when I was briefly rich) I would have bought it in a second.

Is $28.00 doable?

Forget cards... Comic books is where it's at!
The pride and joy of my collection:
Wolverine first appearance? Sweet, I'm jealous....

Mike, remember Dave Andrews sold 7ish Gretzky rookie cards in the later 80's for a hundred bucks?
Yoooooooooouch.

Well this topic has been brought to new light for me after having watched "Zeitgeist" last night. Anybody else seen it??
Yes a few times. I also recommend END GAME
It is a doc about the Bilderberg Group and the coming plans for the New World Order
Just watched ENDGAME. Wholly schit. We are in serious trouble. Things are much worse than I could ever have imagined.

I had the same thing happen to my brother and I when we were 10ish. This bastard (who I still see around town and would like to throw eggs at) who was 15 years older than us paid us each $7 for our hockey card collections. He literally started a business in card sales from our collections and eventually had a nice shop downtown where he ripped off all sorts of little kids.
oh right, yes. Any vintage (pre 1990) card package was actually made from wax paper and can easily be opened and resealed.

First off' date=' the Government doesn't care, they just pretend to so that they can keep the support of the non-smoking population. They make way too much money off of it to actually care.[/quote']
sorry jayr, but that's wrong.
smoking now costs society. yes, the government raises revenues through taxation, but since 2002/04, more moneys are spent on smoking-related healthcare than moneys coming in, and that's just direct costs.
i work in health research and deal everyday with people in government and can assure you that they do care a great deal about the health of Canadians. they care a great deal. it's very sad that you think otherwise.
I believe that people care. Sorry, I did make that comment in haste but lately I have become extemely skeptical of Government in general because money is all that seems to matter. My comment was more directed towards highlevel Government because I am sure that workers in healthcare and other areas that actually deal with these issues first hand could not care more.
Peace,
J

Smokers will never go away completely, we may be forced out of sight but we will always be here. Making cigarettes illegal would be just as crazy as throwing people in jail for possessing flowers from a weed. Plus, I feel that I have the right to make my own decision on the matter and if I want to smoke then that is my choice.
Don't get me wrong though, I am not pro-tobacco and I would never suggest anyone take up the sport but I have the right to smoke just as much as nonsmokers have the right to not smoke, and years of negative comments about an activity I participate in every hour or so of my waking life has made me a wee bit defensive on the matter and I really don't mean to offend anyone if I did....

Super huge thanks to everybody that came out on Friday for this show and to Diesel Dog for coming up and playing two killer sets for us all! It was a stellar night and I can't wait to do it again. Also to Allison & Brent for everything you did to help make it all happen.
Thanks!!

I never knew it was possible to love something and hate it equally. It is a bit odd... Quitting is a hell of a lot harder than just knowing that smoking is stupid and bad for your health though.

^I'll have to check that out^

And besides, you don't need to learn this fact in school, you can pick it up from the mass amounts of American media which Canadians consume.
True enough.
-
Oh yeah, and there are 50 states, I talked to eleven Canadians who all said 52. This is something that North Americans should know by the time they are ten.
Is American geography taught in Canadian schools? Maybe I dropped out before that.......
