Someone will have to help me with the setlist tonight. I don't know Grand Theft Bus at all really, so before I get the show out to everyone, I'll need someone to let me know what the songs are called, and if there's a long jam with several songs in it, I'll need to know that too.
-
Well they are binaural earbud sized mics with clips on them. If they are not used as binaural mics, as in with a dummy head or something, they just produce a regular stereo recording. The signal doesn't get affected as you said. It just sounds like a normal stereo recording. I don't want to wear them for the show because the quality won't be as good since people might be talking to me, etc. Unless you want me to try, and I can certainly do that.
-
Well, indeed, pressing record IS important... I will probably just clip my mics onto a glass on my table, provided I get a table.. I don't feel too good about taping them to the wall or whatever and leaving them unsupervised.. I just got all this new gear for xmas and I'd die if anything happened to it.

Hey all... as you might already know, I plan to tape the Bus tonight. The equipment I've got is:
Sound Professionals Binaural Microphones (SP-BMC1)
Sound Professionals Slimline Battery Module w/Bass Roll-off
Sharp MD-MT99 Minidisc Recorder
If any of you are experienced with this equipment, any idea whether I should plug into the mic in or line since i'm using a battery box..? Given the audio system at the Bayou and how loud GTB is, I wanna know in advance what I should set it up too in order to avoid the whole trial and error period.
-
True.... I dunno. I am kind of worried about theft though. Even if I did tape them somewhere, i'd still stay there and watch 'em, you know.
-
Well, I have nothing to clip them onto... no stand or anything. It looks like i will have to wear them.
-
Nice, sounds like it will be fun... my equipment is all stealthy anyways, so it wouldn't matter.. but I'm going to wear my mics in in that case. Cya there.. I'll post the show online on saturday probably in case you guys all wanna download it.. in SHN of course.
-
OH yeah.. also, what time will GTB be going on tomorrow night? I can only get there at like 9:30 at the earliest... will I miss anything?
-
That sounds like a pretty darn good idea man. By the way, what's the Bayou like? I've never been. They have good food? Pretzels? PLEASE, they must have pretzels!! HAHA.... do they pat folks down on the way in, cuz I don't want a hassle with my mics..
-
No patch!? goddamn, that sucks... where's the ideal place at the bayou to tape from the audience?
-
Hahahha, alright, duly noted
-
Hahaha, ok, well keep your eyes peeled for the guy possibly wearing a red helly hansen hat, who looks a little lost Otherwise, I suppose I could just approach the sound dude at the Bayou prior to the show and ask for a patch.
-
Oh yeah... I just might do that. How will I know who you guys are? ... I just turned 19 yesterday so I guess I'd be quite a young'un.
-
Ok, who should I look for? Hehe, I've never met any of you guys before. You should hold up a sign... "Board patch this way..." BAHAHA. By the way, I have a 1/8" to RCA, so I guess I'll need to get two mono RCA to 1/4" adapters, cuz I'm guessing the board likely has 1/4" outs.. But yeah, If you can hook me up with a board patch, I would be very thankful.

Hey all.. I'm thinking of taping the GTB show on friday... I'll be bringing my mics cuz I've heard that it might be difficult to get a board patch. This is my first time using my new mics, so we'll see how it goes. See you all there.

Hmmm, damn. Well... blew my cover. Hehehe. Whatever, maybe I'll just end up missing the show. Sucks, but there will be other nero shows in january, when i'm legally allowed in... so I can wait. Anyways, thanks for all the suggestions. You guys have been great. I'll try something.. growing the beard isn't a problem, as I've already got one started Thanks again, talk to you soon guys.
-
Well, hehe, these are some funny ideas guys. I'm not sure exactly what I might do. Hmm, how stringent are the door guys with ID? Cuz I mean, I don't like young or anything. Gotten into Barrymore's before without problem... I might just bank on that. I'm going to be going with some friends who are older.

Hey all... here's my situation. I'm 18 right now... turning 19 in less than 2 months. I've still been unable to see a Nero show. I haven't been able to come by a fake ID, nor have I really seriously tried looking. It sucks that I can't get into a club to see a band, just cuz of age, when I don't even intend on drinking anything other than sprite. I was wondering... those of you who've been to Babylon.. do you know if they allow minors to enter with an X on their hands, or, this is to the Nero guys.. do you have any sort of a guest list type thing that you can allow anyone to enter with, regardless of age? Maybe i'm way off the mark here, but I've been desperate to see a nero show for a few months now. And this xmas show just looks so appealing, being that school will be out for a few weeks, giving me a chance to celebrate. What better way than to enjoy a nice show. Anyways, if anyone can let me know what my chances are at seeing this performance, please reply. Thanks all, and have a great christmas.

Not sure if this is the right forum, but what the hey. Alright, I'm interested in getting into taping live shows. I think I'll end up getting a Sharp MD-MT99 MD Recorder... and I was then going to buy some nice mics... either core sound low cost binaurals or cadioids, or some sound pro binaurals. I will eventually get a battery box. I'm just wondering which you guys would recommend. I will be taping shows in clubs, and also arenas and outdoor shows. Let me know what you think. Thanks guys.

One last thing.... doubleB, how come I wasn't able to get a board patch tonight? You asked and the band said no?
