fretman
Hey Guys, heres some more of my pics from the last day (Sunday) at bonnaroo I was dumping my memory card on Willys laptop everynight, so i will have many more soon I'm glad to hear you got jazzy on the road again relatively quickly Willy, and the mechanic was very helpful.... hopefully his invoice wasnt too horrible. I'll bug you about coming to get those pics on CD later after you guys get some sleep.. "Sleep well, my Canadian brother" Taj Mahal I really enjoyed hearing some good old fashion blues....I was not familiar with Taj Mahal before Bonarroo, although I've always heard the name. This pic will tie in with Willy's story about walking through the mud, it was absolutley insane, in some of the heavily trampled area between stages. the more people walked through it, the softer the mud got.... Moe I think Moe always sound great, I'm definatley gonna have to pick some up. only stuck around for about 3 or so songs though, there was so many things to see.. Soulive and Addison Groove Project were both playing as well, so i had to make my rounds. Soulive(anyone know the guest singer Regi Watts?....he was amazing) I had never heard very much Soulive before, I got really close for this one, and never made it to the Addison show, Oh well, they be in the Hammer soon. MMW (with Robert Randolph) got to this show a little late, tried running back to the campsite, to regroup, this can take a few hours when you have to walk a couple miles through 12" deep pudding. cold beer in the cooler, hey guy's MMW is already playin, were missin it, lets go back into the muck we go.... when we got there Robert Randolf was onstage with them, i tried some pics, but you can only see his silouette, it was rainin pretty good at this point, i didn't want to be using my camera too much. Then the hard rain started..... the musicians left the stage, and we headed to the Superjam the get some shelter. The Superjam this was awesome!! although it took a while for all 5 of us to squeeze our way under the tent. I recognized George Porter Jr. on bass, I remember seeing him on my "Deepest End"(Gov't Mule) DVD....he's great I wish I could remember who played with origionally, I'll have to do some research. And for most of it I didnt even know i was seeing Maceo Parker, as I didnt really even know what he looked like before this. Most of Soulive as well, and Stanton Moore of course, you guys might have to help me fill the blanks for some of the others though Trey Anastasio Band well, although I really am sure I would have enjoyed the first set of Trey with the Nashville Chamber Orchestra in a Theatre setting, I dont think it worked well for the final show of bonnaroo, everyone was ready to dance! The Second set however Rocked!!! he did some really good covers too, like Devil went Down in Georgia, Sultans of Swing, and Black Dog(ohmygod) who was that female singer, she tore it up!! oh, during the last couple songs fireworks were going off in the distance, lighting up the sky, what can I say a wicked finale to an awesome weekend. First Set with Nashville Chamber Orchestra Ya'll really drove, all the way from Ontario?? well thats all for now folks.... i will review the rest of the stories when I get all my pics together..
