paisley
first (and only) time I've seen Eccodek I was truly caught off guard. These guys are great at what they do. Andrew McPherson leads his band with a ton of charisma and charm. Vaguely dream-like songs and music that somehow manage to be at once enthusiastic, totally entertaining and like some sort of nectar for the soul. Deep, dancable yet meaningful. live band with percussive and electronic leanings "eccodek's More Africa in Us? blends voices from Rwanda and Mali, ethnic and urban grooves, the Mongolian erhu's mournful melodies with electronic textures in a dub mix."gonna pop down later, work permitting... if you're in the market for something to do, pop out2 other great shows in town tonight are Jack DeKeyzey at the Casbah (killer blues guitar player) and Sue Foley at the Corktown (great guitar and songwriter)... tons going on in town this weekend
