zero
I've heard various stories about the origin of the name. Someone on the Slip site put up a speech Brad made at a show telling the story. Basically it was an existing band at Tabor I presume and they ended up taking over the band as people graduated. Someone else just posted, likely familiar with Tabor, that 'slip' is used in the making of ceramics, their school had a good ceramics program and they were friends with the teacher. I buy it. slip is a sticky, slippery mixture of clay and water that is used to aid in working with wet clay or as a glue to help attach pieces of wet clay together. but it sounds like the band's name has another origin.
