AdamH
I'm trying to create an HTML email template for our monthly newsletter at work. We've been sending our messages in text format but looking through the subscriber list, it's pretty clear that most people are using HTML-capable email these days. Trouble is I haven't figured out how to save a template in MS Outlook that retains the HTML elements. Everytime I make one and presumably save it and send it to myself (my home yahoo account) all of the pictures and graphic bars are not coming up. Any tips? The website in question is www.vsocan.org. I'm just trying to keep the top bar on our site in every email, and will put the text of the newsletter below.
CyberHippie
Where you are putting the images? They need to be on a live webserver somewhere, unless you plan on sending them with the email (which isn't a good idea).
AdamH
I guess that's my problem. I'll go back into the template and check the properties for each part of that NavBar thing. Thanks for jogging the think machine.
CyberHippie
oooops, that's wasn't very heady help... Set all your image dimensions to 420.
AdamH
Actually they are all small gifs I think so I don't see a problem sending them within the email. THere are no photos or anything. Hotmail is bigger too. How would I do that?
CyberHippie
Not too sure, you'd have to somehow add them all as attachments. I wouldn't do that though. If you are using the exact same stuff as what's on your site, just reference those images:
