MuleMomma
Nice review Mike - it seems you're becoming a hardcore Mulehead yourself. A couple quotes - "This is not the Mule of old, which may take some of the hard-core members a while to appreciate, if they will be able to at all." In speaking with many of the oldest (as in been there since the beginning) Muleheads I know, the response is unanimous in that the impact of the loss of Woody is huge, and he is dearly missed and irreplaceable, but that this evolution of the band is a welcome surprise and seems tighter than any configuration of the Mule in the past four years since Woody's demise. "The tempo changes alone would have lost most musicians and the Mule proved they are not to be reckoned with when they are on their game." A great line, but as far as I can tell, even a weaker Mule show is significantly tighter and more inspired than almost any other show I've attended, but that's just me. :: Can hardly wait for the next one! :: In case you still want to know what was being said - Mr. Man - (Off Deja Voodoo, written by Warren Haynes) How much more can we ignore the voices How much longer can we keep our heads in the sand Can't you hear me - don't you even hear me I'm screaming as loud as I can Can't you hear me, Mr. Man There's no concern for the people dying There's more concern for keeping the upper hand In their faces - we're laughing in their faces And you still don't understand Why they hate you, Mr. Man You better get ready I said ready Time to get ready Can you see that day when your world starts crumbling Can you see that day when you meet your maker again Will he be like you - do you think he's really like you You can bet your soul depends On that, Mr. Man It's time to get ready I said ready You better get ready
MuleMomma
Footnote - My wallpaper is a photo of Woody taken from The Comfort Zone show 07/31/00, and has been the same since they were posted on mulezone.com shortly after the show (not sure if they're still there somewhere or not, but I haven't been able to find them recently)
