StoneMtn Posted May 16, 2005 Report Share Posted May 16, 2005 More news from Lawyers Against the War...Congressman John Conyers will be issuing a letter cosigned by roughly 50 House members calling for a special prosecutor to investigate claims that the U.S. has violated the War Crimes Act at secret detention facilities in Iraq, Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay, RAW STORY has learned. Conyers seems to me to be on the conservative wing of the Democratic party, too (though I gather Illinois is a bit strange that way - wasn't it Republicans there who repealed the death penalty?); I wonder how the partisan lines worked out here, as the signatories' affiliations aren't mentioned.
