TimmyB
Happy 64th Birthday Bob, May you have many, many more in health and happiness! The twenty-four shows of yours that I have attended this past decade have been some of the most special moments of my life. And in the next decade I look forward to hopefully seeing twice as many more times. I thank the Comander and Chief in this world and the world that we don't see that He gave you to the world. Esau
Happy birthday Bob... Never has a musician/poet/writer moved me more emotionally, mentally & spiritually.Thank you. In the time of my confession, in the hour of my deepest needWhen the pool of tears beneath my feet flood every newborn seed There's a dyin' voice within me reaching out somewhere, Toiling in the danger and in the morals of despair. Don't have the inclination to look back on any mistake, Like Cain, I now behold this chain of events that I must break. In the fury of the moment I can see the Master's hand In every leaf that trembles, in every grain of sand. Oh, the flowers of indulgence and the weeds of yesteryear, Like criminals, they have choked the breath of conscience and good cheer. The sun beat down upon the steps of time to light the way To ease the pain of idleness and the memory of decay. I gaze into the doorway of temptation's angry flame And every time I pass that way I always hear my name. Then onward in my journey I come to understand That every hair is numbered like every grain of sand. I have gone from rags to riches in the sorrow of the night In the violence of a summer's dream, in the chill of a wintry light, In the bitter dance of loneliness fading into space, In the broken mirror of innocence on each forgotten face. I hear the ancient footsteps like the motion of the sea Sometimes I turn, there's someone there, other times it's only me. I am hanging in the balance of the reality of man Like every sparrow falling, like every grain of sand. ~Every Grain Of Sand - B.Dylan

TimmyB
Hey Greg,"Every Grain of Sand" is easily in my top five of favorite Bob Dylan songs.Remember when we got it at Maple Leaf Gardens in 1998? I nearly feel out of my chair.
TimmyB
First I listened to some Bob Dylan shows I've seen live before I went to bed last night after midnight. Then after I woke up, because of Esau, I listened to 'Shot of Love' as it has "Every Grain of Sand" on it. Then I listened to the first two discs from Bob Dylan Audio Book "Chronicles Volume One" read by Sean Penn.I went down to get the mail and low and behold there is my tickets to see Dylan with Willie Nelson at Classic Park in Eastlake, Ohio the day after my birthday on June 26th!I think later I'll put on "Masked and Anonymous" and/or "MTV Unplugged."I wonder what else I could do to celebrate the birthday of the greatest songwriter of all time?
