Hal Johnson
Picked this movie up a while ago from Wal-Mart for about $6. It chronicles the lives of Jackie Robinson, Satchel Paige, and Josh Gibson, the year before Robinson cracked the bigs. Its a really cool look at the politics behind the Dodgers choice for the first Black man in the majors. If you want an interesting baseball movie, this one is definately it. Also, a fascinating fact revealled at the end of the flick is that Josh Gibson hit something like 972 homeruns in his career in the Negro-leagues! Yowsers!
