shainhouse
Hey,The band I'm playing in is playing on January 12th at the Casbah in Hamilton. It's a CD Release Party for our MC, Kae-sun who just released his debut disc, Soliloquay, available everywhere on Jan 4th. www.kaesunmusic.com for more info. Here's some info about K and the band. We are a 6-8 pc (depending on who shows up) live hip-hop band featuring the conscious, emotional lyricism and delivery of Kae-sun. I play drums. There is a definitive West African influence as well.BIO:Art is a collaboration between God and the artist, and the less the artist does the better" -Andre Gide (1869-1951). SOLILOQUY (DEC.2005) The magic of music is its ability to transcend the current human condition creating a sense of escapism and freedom. This is the philosophy with which mc/singer/songwriter Kae Sun approaches his art. Kae Sun alongside his band are gradually sculpturing a sound that blends the the traditional rhythms of Africa with the "boom bap" sound of hip-hop and the spirit lifting melodies of soul music. This sound is showcased on his upcoming debut cd "Soliloquy" to be released worldwide on Life Records Entertainment this winter. In a truly unique fashion, Kae Sun's music attempts to restore the fundamentals of songwriting with the performer as a lyricist or poet of sorts, shedding light on a variety of social and spiritual issues without compromising the basic need for sonically captivating, neck snapping, heart thumping music. SOLILOQUY 1.2 "THE CASUAL SESSIONS"(JANUARY 2006) "Revolutionary artist's, do revolutionary things". Not quite a mixtape, not quite an Ep, "Soliloquy1.2 the casual sessions", is exactly what its name suggests: songs recorded casually in the artist's living room. With each song being less than 3 minutes long, the cd has a free flowing, live feel complete with feedback, peaks and all giving a new definition to the term "raw talent".music samples available at:www.myspace.com/kaesunHope ya'll can make it. Lazlo
Guest list? I don't need no stinking guest list. I'll just sneak in through the lounge. Besides, why would I pay to abuse you when I can do it anytime for free?
