mattm
I always wondered about the glass being liquid or solid question so one day I looked it up in google and got this.Another day (today and some years later) I looked it up again and go the same page. kinda neat. Dr_Evil_Mouse
That's interesting - glasses as substances that are categorially neither quite solids nor liquids. Thanks for that. Still getting my head around it. I remember reading once how so much of the world has been deforested as a result of the discovery of glass, and the need to burn lots of wood to make it. I heard that put forward as an explanation for the desertification of Arabia and northern Africa.
kookycanooky
Downloading right now, thanks for the heads up.I watched the elegant universe...its very very dumbed down, while at the same time the information trying to be put across is very difficult to comprehend. Also of the 3 parts (i think it was 3 parts)..its very very repetative. I think they could have done it in 1 episode...whats the name of the "cafe" in which the character of the movie are hanging about?
mattm
The Quantum Cafe where the normal rules of physics don't apply. I agree with you on the dumbed down and repetetiveness. I think they tried to gear it as much to the masses as possible. I still loved it though.
