bradm
I just saw a clip from a press conference with all the current Liberal leadership candidates: all 16 of them.Having this many made me wonder: how many actually think they have a shot at winning? I mean, I'd assume that Ignatieff and Kennedy have a shot, but it seems there are a bunch of "second tier" candidates that nobody knows. I wonder if these candidates actually think they have a chance at winning, or are they using the leadership race as a good way to make some political points? (Consider: it's possible to have 2% of the vote and yet be most important, if there are two other candidates each with 49%.)Aloha,Brad
Hux
exactly....after the 1st ballot, delegates are free to vote as they like, so assuming there is a second ballot = no candidate with 50% + 1 (on the first ballot) there will be a tremendous amount of convention floor bargaining, so even someone with little support can be a king maker...Plus making the king gives you a great shot at a sweet cabinet spot.
