OCFF this weekend in Ottawa

Anyone of you music fans planning on attending the Ontario Council of Folk Festival's conference in Ottawa this weekend ( http://ocff.ca/ )? I'll be there and will be hosting several delegate friends at my humble abode. Lotsa music, drink and silliness will be abound to be sure!

Tonight's kick off concert is the a 20-years of Folk Music concert featuring the past recipients of the Estelle Klein Award winners Ken Whitely, Jackie Washington and my dad's band The Friends of Fiddlers Green among others at the Museum of Civilization ( http://www.ottawafolk.org/Concert%202006-2007/Oct_2006_Concerts.htm ).

It's not jammy but will definitely be a weekend of great music! I hope to see some of you there.

I noticed this listed on Mr. Something Something's tour dates, and wondered if the great unwashed masses would be able to attend. It turns out there are a limited number of wristbands, available on Friday after 6pm.

Mr.SS has their showcase Friday at 10:55pm, after Janine Stoll at 10:20pm. Part of me wants to try and see if I can record JS/Mr.SS...

Check out Duane Andrews, a gypsy guitarist from Newfoundland... I played a couple of dates with him through Atlantic Canada and played with him at Evolve in 2004. www.duaneandrews.ca He doing some OCFF showcases from his hotel room!!
