Put yourself in a GM's position. You will listen to every trade and you will constantly be looking for ways to help your team. That is what you are paid to do. Everyone would like to trade from a position of strength but when you are winning you dont want to screw up the chemistry so teams normally will do things to stop the bleeding, which is why the rumour mill seems abnormally loud right now.
