For over three decades, Johnny Clegg has been bringing his politically charged yet joyous music to the world. His concerts have a potent and unique fusion of traditional Zulu music with Western folk and rock rhythms characterized by the bands Juluka and Savuka. Sometimes called "The White Zulu", he is an important figure in South African popular music history, with songs that mix Zulu and English lyrics, and African, European, and Celtic music styles.

First with Juluka in the 1980s and, later, Savuka in the 90s, his new, truly infectious sound, combined with an unyielding stance against Apartheid, brought international success and made him a cultural phenomenon not only in South Africa but around the world. With their high-energy, dance-filled performances Savuka became one of the most popular world music bands of the time, touring the world and selling millions of albums.

Today, Johnny Clegg remains active in South African affairs and culture while continuing to create and perform music. With a band that features some of South Africa’s finest musicians, he offers a mix of his classic songs and anthems, where Zulu dance numbers meet reggae, hip-hop, jazz, and rock influences.
