Blane Posted July 23, 2007 Report Share Posted July 23, 2007 (edited) I've been planning for an upcoming trip to Mali and came across this amazing festival that happens every year not too far from Timbuktu. www.festival-au-desert.org/ Unfortunately it's in January, so I'll be going at the wrong time, but it's worth checking out just to see what a unique event it must be. On my "to do before I die" list now. I also downloaded a compilation from the 2003 edition and it's amazing. For those who were impressed by Toumani Diabate at the bluesfest, this would be right up your alley. A few images: You literally go there by camel caravan.
