DevO
I just finished watching WAR/DANCE . OH. MY. GOD. You have to see this film! It is incredibly moving, incredibly SAD at several point, but just amazing and inspiring. Its about a group of orphans living in war-torn northern Uganda who's school sends them to Kampala to participate in a music festival for all elementary schools across the country. The music and dancing is just amazing. Some of these kids' stories are the saddest stories I've ever heard in my life. Tissues recommended. Beautifully shot film too. Its won a lot of awards. I heard that the couple who made the film were living in the village that it is based in for a little over 2 years (working for AMREF), which is why the locals were so comfortable with them and allowed them to capture such intimate moments. Anyhoo, definitely check out this film when it comes out on video. You can also download it. Click here for a 7-minute theatrical trailer.
