DESCRIPTION/ Description des tâches

The Uniterra program provides numerous opportunities for

Canadian citizens and landed immigrants to volunteer abroad

in their field of experience. We work with local partners in

13 countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia. Uniterra's

objective is to support development initiatives that address

world poverty.

Cooperate with Uniterra and work in partnership with

various organizations, both in developing countries and

in Canada. Volunteers share their experiences with their

community, encourage international solidarity, and help

shape policies towards meeting the UN Millennium

Development Goals.

With Uniterra, you can volunteer for a position of 1 month

to two years, depending on the needs of local cooperation

initiatives. Recruitment for positions is all-year round.

Airfare and a monthly stipend are included for each

candidate to accommodate basic living needs: accommodation,

vaccinations, visas and health insurance.

Volunteer Conditions

Volunteer postings last from 1 month to two years.

Volunteers are not remunerated for their services, however,

a basic living allowance is provided according to the cost

of living in the host country. For long-term assignments,

Uniterra will increase the allowance according to the number

of dependents accompanying the volunteer and recognized as

such by the program. In addition to the living allowance,

Uniterra covers the volunteers' travel costs to and from

the country of posting, and provides the volunteer with

an insurance policy.
