bouche
I'm not sure why pork and pineapple always go good together. Maybe the Hawaiians are a more advanced civilization than the rest of the planet, but nothing beats that marriage of fruit and meat.I'm playing with a pork tenderloin tonight and some fresh pineapple. I've the pork cubed and marinating in soy, ginger, garlic, molasses, and pineapple juice. I plan to skewer the meat chunks with alternating pineapple chunks and some red onion bits. I might even drizzle a little balsamic glaze on the pineapple before grilling.I'm really looking forward to the black caramelized layers from the grill. phishtaper
mmmm, sounds yummy. perhaps because my mom used to make hawaiian pork when i was a kid, ive always thot they were very good companions, not at all "unlikely". goat and mango are great companions too! i think north america (european influences?) has come to see fruit as not a regular meal ingredient. it's thot to be more for snacking or desserts.
