kc
This is the NEW shit, Alright!?!?! http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=FarwBWm-ayM http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=kG2BEWSL0i0 PJC presents... MV & EE with THE GOLDEN ROAD http://www.myspace.com/mveebummerroad http://www.ecstaticpeace.com/mvee MV & EE is a group of musicians focused around Matt Valentine, sometimes referred to as MV, and his partner Erika Elder. Matt Valentine was in the neo-psychedelic group, The Tower Recordings. While the duo recorded under many different names, including MV&EE Medicine Show and The Bummer Road, most of the records center around both artists and feature a rotating cast of additional musicians. Their style is self-described as "lunar ragas", with many of the lyrics dealing with celestial imagery. They combine Indian raga style composition (with increasing authenticity as they become more accomplished with time) with Appalachian folk and post-psychedelic electrical experimentalism. They use Western and Eastern acoustic instruments amplified and augmented with effects such as reverb, delay, and flange. Their compositions occasionally feature vocals, which are off-kilter and rambling, while seeming drugged. Wikipedia MV: Acoustic and Electric Guitars, Harmonica, Bantar (modified banjo>sitar), Swarsangam, Bass, Octave Divider Bass, Mellotron, Vox EE: Cocola Firebird, Lap Steel, Bowed Dulcimer, Mandolin, Vox Plus the Golden Road. With PROOF OF GHOSTS http://www.myspace.com/proofofghosts http://www.weewerk.com/ GOAT FOOTED & ANNIE SHAW With a core trio consisting of Steve Shoe (The Electric Shoes), Mike Duffield (The Postage Stamps), and Mike Hawko (Sinking Ships), Proof Of Ghosts has an extended family that includes; Jason Baird (Do Make Say Think, Feist), Kelly Sue O'Connor (Henri Fabrige and the Adorables), Justin Small (Do Make Say Think, Lullaby Arkestra) and Trevor Coleman (The Boat), amongst others. The release of Proof Of Ghosts’ self titled debut record is a momentous occasion. Proof Of Ghosts features 15 songs of pure pleasure and aural ecstasy, with heartfelt lyrics and guitar rupted waves of emotion. This is folk rock that mesmerizes. Proof of Ghosts has shared the stage with touring acts White Whale and VCR, locals Rock Plaza Central, The Diabaleros, The Cansecos and Timber Timbre and joined Do Make Say Think on tour in Washington DC. Would sound great on a mix tape with: Band Of Horses, Dinosaur Jr, East River Pipe, Chad Van Gaalen, Miracle Fortress, Great Lake Swimmers, Oceano De Cruz, Buffalo Tom www.weewerk.com MORE TBA... kc
You should have came anyway. There was plenty in the Tang we were passing around. Yes, it's Tang now. Anyway, they are playing toronto tonight and tomorrow I think. Check them out. It was great last night. these guys definitely have some Deadhead lineage in their system, even thought the it's more indie and art/noise people who have discovered them. Not the noodley, jamband style but if you go you will see what I mean.
