CyberHippie Posted September 25, 2003 Report Share Posted September 25, 2003 U.S. Customs busts illicit garbage shipment Toronto — The dispute over shipping Toronto's waste south of the border took a bizarre twist Wednesday, as American customs inspectors dicovered nearly a ton of marijuana stuffed in the back of a Canadian garbage truck. A U.S. Customs and Border Protection official at the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron, near Sarnia, said a Gamma ray scan indicated that there was something unusual with the truck's cargo. Further inspection revealed a massive load of pot concealed in hockey bags and plastic garbage bags in the rear of the truck. The driver of the truck had told border officials that the load was heading for a dump in Michigan.
