Originally scheduled for Friday, April 25, 2003 this concert will now take place Thursday, October 16, 2003. Legendary sitar player, composer, author, teacher and India's most outstanding ambassador of music, Ravi Shankar performs with his virtuoso daughter Anoushka. He pioneered the fusion of Western and Eastern music with the Beatles in the 1960s which continues through the 1990s with Philip Glass. Shankar is the winner of numerous Grammys and the 1998 Polar Music Prize along with Ray Charles for significant achievement in music. George Harrison dubbed him the "Godfather of World Music". Shankar performs with a classical ensemble of India's finest musicians.
