Hux
National Post (right-wing paper) article: "Not Exactly as Advertised": Canadians think they know him: the small-c conservative finance minister who tamed the deficit and out-reformed Reform. But is that the real Paul Martin? A careful reading of the chapters of his life suggests that P. M., the next PM, will be turning left.
hamilton
Thanks Hux - that's a great link, and an interesting story. It kind of sheds light on Martin's recent comments about same-sex marriages, too - I think he's playing coy now, but after he's elected he'll follow through with what Chretien started. Of course, the politicians really have no choice on that one - the courts have ruled, so it's either abolish marriage or make same-sex mariages legal. Let's hope the article is accurate... On a lighter note, I didn't know that anyone on the National Post staff new how to write such an eloquent article - especially without mentioning why Israel is great...
