AD
I know the dude that discovered that, he's from Ottawa and his name is Jean Thie. He's one of the first users of GIS in Canada and created the Canadian Land Inventory (a big deal among geographers) I believe and had a part in inventing GRASS although I could be wrong on that. (NorthernWish will know what I'm talking about). The guy is full of himself and can't talk about anything else, but he's put a ton of time into finding and mapping big beaver dams so I guess that's cool...Also, the whole 'visible from space' thing doesn't mean much anymore since high-res satellite imagery became commercially viable and accessible. I guess in this case it's noteworthy because you can see the dam and there's no canopy overhead.Busy beavers!
Dr_Evil_Mouse
It's probably sitting on top of a big lode of unobtanium.
