I'd just like to say that this show was AWESOME!! I only caught a bit of the Hearts' set but they sounded fine - not a stand-out performance by my recollection. Apparently Greg Keelor (singer, Blue Rodeo) was rumoured to be sitting in with The Sadies, which caused the Sadies' parents to come to the show (the parents of the two brothers). Well, Greg Keelor didn't show up but the parents sat in for a whole bunch of songs.. The dad played harmonica, another instrument whose name I don't know, and he sang. The mother sang.. And they sounded great!! Of the 4 or so Sadies songs I would have recognized, they didn't play any. I think they were playing lots of tunes off the new album. They also did a little tribute to Johnny Cash (which they've been doing for a while now I think), did fine covers of "Runnin Back to Saskatoon" and "Little Sadie". The Sadies have such great stage presence and I can't wait to see 'em again soon. Here's their upcoming shows:

Wednesday, February 18 - Starlight Club, Waterloo

Friday, February 20 - The Underground, Hamilton

Saturday, February 21 - Venue TBA, London

Friday, February 27 - Barrymore's, Ottawa

Saturday, February 28 - Le Swimming, Montreal
