MarcO
Thanks to www.nugs.net I am currently checking out the Grateful Dead: 10-18-89 Philadelphia! Nice little Garcia "horn" solo in Shakedown! good stuff.... Some called it "The Dark Star Tour," some called it the best tour since the seventies, but everybody agreed that each night the band took the stage since the momentous Alpine Valley shows the previous summer through the following spring, there was a certain magic in the air. Often cast in the shadow of The Warlocks shows from Hampton and Bobby's birthday show from The Meadowlands, Wednesday night at The Spectrum was the next show after 10/16 and the first of a three night run in Philly. Opening with a nod to Broad Street, "Shakedown" set the tone for the evening, and the heat didn't let up until the last notes of "U.S. Blues." Brent was on fire the whole night, which was par for the course on this tour. SET 1 Shakedown Street Little Red Rooster Peggy-O Queen Jane Approximately Bird Song The Music Never Stopped SET 2 China Cat Sunflower I Know You Rider Ship of Fools Women Are Smarter Terrapin Station Drums Space Gimme Some Lovin' All Along the Watchtower Black Peter Around and Around Good Lovin' ENCORE US Blues

Guest Low Roller
Whuju call me? "Britpopper"? Are you insane? Sunshine, you have my permission to do whatever you want to FBTS. I recommend grabbing him by his chiny-chin-chin goatee and see if it peels like an orange.
