paisley Posted February 20, 2004 Report Share Posted February 20, 2004 the British guy who coined the term "psychedelic" in 1956 passed away at 86 psychedelic literally means "to show the mind" he used psychedelics in his research to study schizophrenia as he had the theory that mind altering drugs mimic what a schizophrenic sees and hears Humphrey didn't think people should take them recreationally because he thought they were "mysterious and dangerous" (sounds like taking them could get you some action - suddenly, you're James Dean) they don't name many kids Humphrey anymore Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
