mark tonin
I recently found out about this show: Gruvasylum featuring Nick "The Brownman" Ali and MC Enlight with guests Midnight Mission (ska) Wed. March 31 E-Bar 41 Quebec Street (at the Bookshelf, upstairs) Guelph $7 Opening band goes on at 10:00 sharp. Here's a description of Gruvasylum's music: Improvisation. Spontaneous creation. The essence of the jazz solo is not so different from the essence of freestyle. GRUVASYLUM is hip-hop with a jazz ideology. 100% improvised urban grooves, yet rooted in jazz lineage. Place these tenements in the hands of award-winning musicians and a berserker freestyle rapper... . . . and watch the walls b u r n d o w n . . . Check out Nick "The Brownman" Ali's web site ... this guy is a fantastic musician! link to web site Peace, Mark

mark tonin
Not sure yet LMP ... it will have to be a last minute decision for me, depending on how things are going that week. I usually shy away from the weeknight shows because my alarm goes off at 6:00 a.m. on school days. But let's talk as the night gets closer. MamaPink
I hear ya on the mid-week adventures. If later in the week you decide you'd like to go, let me know... we can carpool (i don't mind driving either)
MamaPink
Ok - duh... the shuttle just landed. I'm actually going to see Henry Rollins that night. But if it gets out early, I might be persuaded to hit Guelph after...
briguy
In! Not to be missed. Just recently received their cd from the promoter. Killer tunes. kalen
Hello gang I'm the guy putting this show together. Hope you can all make it. FYI, Gruvasylum will be going on at 11:00 so hopefully the Henry Rollins fans will make it. I saw that show posted also and it sounds great. Rollins is 'performing' in Hamilton and Toronto the Thursday April 1 and Friday April 2 of that week but I'll be seeing Antibalas 4 times April 1, 2, 3 and 4. If you have any questions about Gruvasylum, feel free to email me! Jeff
