The Sapphires - Film Alert and Soundtrack Giveaway

Enter a give-away for a free download code for the soundtrack to The Sapphires here.

Fans of the British Channel 4 series, The IT Crowd are likely the only ones that have seen Chris O'Dowd as the underrespected geek in IT performing at a comedic level that is on par with ..... .  He's also been seen in Bridesmaids as a lovestruck cop along with his americanized accented role in HBO's Girls which includes a rant where he mysteriously loses his Irish accent.

In The Sapphires, he plays the role of a talent scout that discovers a group of girls and decides to shape them to be more marketable in 1968.  The trailer clearly shows a standard 3 Act film that hopefully lives up to the expectations presented within.

On April 5th, the Australian produced film will be released in Toronto at the Cineplex Odeon Varsity and VIP Cinema.

Inspired by a true story, THE SAPPHIRES follows four vivacious, young and talented Australian Aboriginal girls from a remote mission as they learn about love, friendship and war when their all girl group The Sapphires entertains the U.S. troops in Vietnam in 1968. Cynthia (Tapsell), Gail (Mailman), Julie (Mauboy) and Kay (Sebbens) are discovered by Dave (O’Dowd), a good-humored talent scout with a kind heart, very little rhythm but a great knowledge of soul music. As their manager, Dave books the sisters their first true gig giving them their first taste of stardom, and travels them to Vietnam to sing for the American troops.
