  1. Badams was correct. Both teams were sloppy and lacking intensity. Habs played last night so understandably were a little worn. They were also killing penalties for almost the entire first period! Where was all the checking tonight? Habs will have to clinch the division elsewhere. My liquor cabinet is getting empty. Had to get on the net to figure out something to make. I'm drinking Johnny Pukes! Not bad surprisingly, but tomorrow might be rough Time for another
  2. Good work by the "kids" tonight I sure am glad I recorded the game on the PVR. Made a sloppy, penalty-ridden, slow game go by a helluva lot faster
  3. All points taken. I concede that it is a story without much bite. Never thought much of Ray myself either. I guess he just doesn't want to go back to drywalling (wasn't he doing that before his last little stint in the league?)
  4. had dinner with the kids (yeah, we were late tonight ) by candlelight. The only thing running here was the PVR recording the hockey game
  5. Emery must feel relieved that all the focus isn't on just him anymore. I have no idea what Murray had to say about Ray's quote. I think it's interesting to hear what somebody who was a hockey player in the NHL has to say about the leadership ability of a team captain. Especially when they get to "observe" from the inside. Sure it is his opinion, but it's gotta mean something. Trust a former NHLer more than I would a sports writer who'd get to observe who's never laced up skates before. I'll give credit to Alfie in that he has shown many times that he can score a goal at a critical time in a game and lift the team's confidence to go on a real tear and comeback. Just wondering if he has that ability to do so in the dressing room too. Motivational players are key on championship teams.
  6. Alfie = -3 today (worst of all players dressed) Good to see the captain can motivate the troops! Sens need to do some soul searching and figure out why they are tanking this way. Washington has a pretty easy opponent to get by today and gain some more ground. And you know that the Leafs are going to do absolutely everything they can to help out when they meet the sens next week. I haven't seen it yet either, but i'm guessing there is little to no exaggeration at all
  7. OK, so I'm looking at the invite to the reception we're going to in April and it's just outside of Ottawa. It's taking place in Rockland (wonderland? ). I've looked it up briefly on the maps and it looks like it's about 30mins outside of downtown Ottawa right? Anyone got any suggestions on places to stay out there (to stumble back to after the party)? I'm sure it would be a $40 cab ride each way if we were to stay in Ottawa TIA
  8. Nice one ... i frequently get those in tallboys. Did this come up on your screen when the game ended??? It does when the right team wins usually
  9. mmmmm ... tasting reeeealy good tonight Whatcha got going over there Booche??? Cheers
  10. Not yet. Gotta clear some room on the credit first. I'm just going to get some lawns anyhow so I'm not too panicked. I'm trying to remember the last Yes show at the Amph. I'm pretty sure there was a fair bit of room on the lawn. I can't see it being a sell out. Ya never know though.
  11. I don't think the Sabres have it in them to catch 8th spot. I've got a few friends in Buffalo who had written off this season from the get go, but there was some real hope for them for a while. It ain't in the cards for them this year. It's going to be gross if both Boston and Philly are in it I'd like to see Washington get a little taste at least
  12. Takes the lead!! Duh ... wins the game That's gotta seal the coffin on the Sabres.

  14. Glad you enjoyed the Harrison/Simon headymamamyrna. How that song could make anyone NOT smile and feel good is beyond me. Summer ... bring it on!
  15. i'll cheer for another canadian team for the fans and for the sport. i'd love to see any canadian team (except the sens) win the cup for the first time.
  16. Says who? What a load. If that is YOUR method, then fine, it ain't the law though. Don't tell me who to cheer for and don't you dare tell me it's unpatriotic NOT to cheer for a Canadian-based franchise. This ain't the Olympics or the Worlds. Your prerogative. First off it's "traitors" unless you are referring to the monkey's on Bay Street. Secondly, that bullshit that a California-based team keeps the Cup stateside is bunk too. What makes a team "more" Canadian? Where it's home games are played, or by the nationality of the players/coaches/owners? Last year, by the Ducks (who had more Canadians on their roster than the other playoff teams) winning the Cup it allowed it to be IN Canada longer throughout the year if that means so much to you. When the Canadian players all got the Cup for their 3 days they take it around to visit family, friends and citizens in Canada. Six teams out of 30 are based in Canada. Get used to it not being "here" every year.
  17. Bertuzzi and his lawyers should be banned from the NHL. What a load of crap.
  18. Damn, even my grandparents don't remember when Ottawa last won The Cup! Forty-one years is bad enough, but at least they had colour photos
  19. Sens can't trump the Leafs until they WIN a Cup (or at least beat them in a playoff round). Leafs can't trump the Habs until they end the 41 year drought. Habs can trump BOTH. Plain and simple.
  20. Fine, not "dead" but severely diminished and not even close to Tor/Ott. Damn, i'm trying to work here ... come on man!
  21. This song is the ultimate F Off Winter tune. Bring on summer sun, heat, pools, tours, outdoor music, etc. We miss you George
