  12. Mark, it's very possible. I have no idea though. I've been around the jamband scene since the mid-80s and went to pretty much everything in Toronto that came through. If we haven't actually met, at least we may recognize one another. I think my mug is up on this forum somewhere Can't wait to get rolling
  13. and the skanky ho's One-armed drummers rock!
  14. Lloyd is one creepy dude ... Gord Martineau is getting that way too (CityTV)
  15. Buddy, I'm not saying that fighting in the NHL is the SOLUTION. I'm saying that trying to eliminate it completely is a MISTAKE.
  16. What? Oh, I guess the argument that Americans (and Canadians) DON'T want to see any sort of violent imagery on their boob tubes is completely legit. That's all. I know that I'm watching NASCAR for the fine sportsmanship, and I wish that they changed the rules in the NFL to flag football rules, and that they'd remove all violence from movies and TV productions.
  17. Yes, i hate that 'solution'. Fuck, I can't see where the hell the ball is when i see golf on TV. I can't see wtf is going on when i see cricket on TV. I get dizzy watching NASCARS make one left turn after another after another, etc. I can't see the fucking ball on a pop fly in baseball on TV. Have you ever tried following the ball in squash, raquetball or jai alai? Viewers have to learn the basics of the game and how it 'flows'. TV viewers then can interpret in their thick little skulls, where the fuck the play is going ::rant off:: Drop the puck.
  18. And the cycle continues. Move to a new american market. Tix will sell because the team is 'new' and there will be a lot of hype. Just like with most of the other poorly placed expansion teams, the Honeymoon Phase will end quickly unless they get a quick winner. Then, sales will die and they'll be looking at relocating to Ames, Iowa before they get back to Canada. Do it the Capatalist way ... sink or swim baby. It's all a big business. If it ain't profitable, let the slackers die off and leave enough teams and talent to provide the entertainment that people are willing to pay for and support.
  19. Yup, and the homerun chase was fulled by performance enhancing drugs!!! Cool. Not to say that all NHL'ers are 'clean', but trying to rid of the fighting element in the game is NOT going to gain a bigger fan base in the US. Like Cherry said (and not that he's right about everything, but) the Amercians love their football, boxing, NASCAR crashes, guns, etc. WTF is wrong with some fisticuffs on the frozen pond?
  20. Just look for the big RV with a couple of Canadian Flags flyin HIGH Mebbe I should pack a message board
  21. History needs to constantly be studied to learn new "angles" on events from the past. Problem is, most history is written by the winners of wars. Shit, i was just hearing a story on the CBC this morning regarding "Comfort Girls" in China and Korea from WWII (essentially sex slaves for the Japanese invaders). Horrible story (much like the Rape of Nanking). But these histories are being 'erased' by the Japanese. Much like other countries do with their history to try to "forget" the not-so-nice side of their pasts. Like the Holocaust, these events that exemplify the truly evil and inhumane side of humanity should NEVER be forgotten. 'In this great future, you can't forget your past' - Bob Marley
  22. The South has a lot of skeletons (and pointed hoodies) in their closet still. It's amazing what people have to put up with there still to this day. New Orleans was a prime example of what all levels of gov't thought about the plight of the predominantly black and poor in a time of need. Earlier this year CBC debuted an amazing documentary on a case that had gone "cold" decades ago. With the tenacity of a CBC journalist, and the determination of a brother who had to live with the justice that was never served for his sibling's slaying, a positive story emerged. It was just re-aired tlast week, but you know it'll be on again soon. Look out for; Mississippi Cold Case http://www.cbc.ca/sunday/mississippicoldcase/ I got to meet the gentlemen involved in this doc briefly when it first aired. One of the most unique and inspiring friendships i have ever witnessed between two individuals.
