I hope he doesn't spook the horse.

Kiedis is the most tone-deaf and lyrically stupid singer of a huge band. At least Bono can hit the notes. Lately the RHCP have sounded more like 90s video game soundtrack music than actual songwriters and players. So over-rated. (Used to be a fan up until One Hot Minute. Some good tracks on that must overall a bad album and the beginning of my change in opinion).
Frusciante is badass.
And Sleigh Bells are awful.

Oh and the weekly radio show...

He's got a pretty detailed blog about his inventory, puts on shows, had a stage at Bluesfest in the past... Google it. Geez.

A friend posted it on Facebook, not sure if Birdman has a presence there or not.

A message from Birdman Sound:
Hey, hope all is well with you at this time of the year. I’m going to put this very simply. Birdman Sound is in need of your support. I don'’t need to list all that we’ve brought to the table over the past 20 years, but right now as in this week we need your support. What with the worst... stretch of “none shopping†weather we've had for the past week Birdman is in a major bind. Due to 5 ½ months of road closure, xmas shopping being the biggest “none event†of the past 20 years and me having to pay my landlords property tax bill of $ 2000. By Dec. 31st I am now in a huge hole. We continue to bring in the best in wax availability week in and week out for our discerning clientele, except the clientele is not coming in. Long story short I have not paid my (January 1st) rent yet !! Despite best efforts, said land lord is demanding his pound of flesh by this coming Monday and yes I know, February’s rent is due 8 days later….can you say “another extension†? Story of my life for the past year. I am hoping because my selection is killer and no filler that you might thi nk about showing some support this week and filling your boots, thus aiding one of Ottawa’s longest running independent purveyor’s of fine culture the opportunity to forge ahead into the abyss none by some as the future. Thanks and I hope to see you…..John
Ps….sadly this is the first ever plea of this sort and frankly I'm embarrassed by it.

I've had that same thought many times on this website.

Booche is over-rated in general, we can agree on that much I'm sure.

It's not journalism - it's sports commentating. Your expectations are unrealistic.

The people in the band are from different places, the band is from Montreal. It's not hard to figure out.

The realignment plan, regardless of the union or management or whatever, gave some teams an advantage right off the bat, and gave some teams a disadvantage right off the bat. Nobody wants that. Right?

Hey Damien, remember when Dmitri Yushkevich played in the All-Star Game in Toronto? I bet you loved that. He was a real talent.

Conan was the only late night performance they did as The Slip
Actually they performed many many times at night as The Slip.

And they were on Strombo for sure.

Didn't they tape a live HD special at Barrymore's?

2 Barr Bros questions:
1. Is the Christmas song they did about Mrs Claus an original?
2. Where can I find an mp3 of that song?
Thanks

Murray St serves duck poutine? Last time I was there the "poutine" was gross spätzle with curds and duck gravy - no duck meat. I hated it and almost sent it back.
The time before that was on a poutine crawl and there was shredded duck meat in the poutine which helped out immensely taste-wise but the spätzle was still gross.

The feeling must be that with Cowen and Karlsson playing so well Rundblad was out of a job. Or am I reading it wrong?

The new restaurant inside the Westin (Shore Club) is supposed to be excellent. But so are many other places within two blocks.
Navarra
Murray Street
Courtyard (that'd be my choice)
Domus
Luxe
town (further down Elgin)
Fatboys
Whalesbone (further down Bank)
Smoque Shack
Chez Lucien for delicious burgers and beers

This year has been pretty wacky for me so I haven't had a chance to listen to nearly as much as I'd like to, so keeping in mind I haven't listened to hardly anything in-depth, here's a list of albums that I really liked on first listen.
Black Keys - El Camino (so good)
Bonnie 'Prince' Billy - Wolfroy Goes to Town
Bry Webb - Provider
Camp Radio - Campista Socialista
Chad VanGaalen - Diaper Island
David Dondero - A Pre-existing Condition
Del McCoury Band and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band - American Legacies
Destroyer - Kaputt
Geoff Berner - Victory Party
The Luyas - Too Beautiful To Work
Miracle Fortress - Was I the Wave?
My Morning Jacket - Circuital
Rich Aucoin - We're All Dying to Live
Sandro Perri - Impossible Spaces (listened to this a lot)
Scott H Biram - Bad Ingredients
Shotgun Jimmie - Transistor Sister
Snailhouse - Sentimental Gentleman (according to my iTunes it's my most played album of the year, by a longshot, really loved this one)
Timber Timbre - Creep on Creepin' On
tUnE-yArDs - w h o k i l l (what Scottie said)
Weird Al - Alpocalypse (this album came in handy on so many days when I needed a laugh)
Wild Flag - Wild Flag
Just got the Wilco disc so hoping I enjoy it too.
