  1. This one is especially sad for me as I would cite his performance at the Pocono Musical Festival on the Mountain from 96'(I think) as being the best musical performance I have ever seen.

One of those nights where you are just never the same afterward you are so profoundly affected by what you have just seen. I've always been a fan of the pared back folk singer thing, this was just so H E A V Y his playing, his voice and his stories were so incredible. I'll never forget that night.

Seen him a couple times since then and he was consistently good but that night was magic.

Any of the first 6 or so releases that he put out are a really good listen if you want to check him out. Lots of covers but he surely made them his own.

I thought of you instantly when I read the news, very sad indeed. Rest in peace Richie.

  2. Mel is moving into the beer and whisky portion of her sommelier certification, if the amount of wine we drank during the last eight months for "studying" purposes is any indication of what is in store for us then things should be pretty amazing at our place for a bit.

  3. Fluff, whatever the hell of the name of the place you took me to in Toronto that only does that one type of pork sandwich was ridiculous, that sandwich is right up there. Man I could go for one of those right now.

  4. More of a "wheels are off the wagon" but that works as well.

Rough time to swoon. I've tickets for the Caps on the 18th and we've got that upcoming booze up for the Leafs (I can't believe we're going back, well I can believe you're going back, it's not like it is some super painful experience for you). Hopefully I'll see some wins.

  5. I can't do it, I see it going down when out for pho and it just doesn't resonate well.....

I ordered sweet bread at this nice restaurant one time and a cow thyroid was placed in front of me, it wasn't so good.

It's on my list next time we're at a good restaurant and it shows up on the menu. I've heard a lot of love/hate reviews but I still want to give it a shot.

  6. If Detroit had any goaltending they could have given the Blackhawks a run for their money, Yzerman and Fedorov were amazing, and Dino and Paul Coffey were good for some points, but god damn whoever the goaltender was, I can't remember, but he was a fucking sieve of gargantuan proportions.

Of course Chicago had Belfour, who was easily the best goaltender in the game, to go along with Roenick and Larmer.

  7. My aging grandmother, who for some bizarre reason liked Miracle Whip, used to mistake jars of Marshmallow Fluff for it and buy that instead and I'd end up making Fluff and Nutters at her house when I visited. That's the only good that's ever come out of Miracle Whip in my life.

I don't like liver but I can stomach it, of all the offal, tripe is a hurdle I'll never get over. Beyond gross.

  8. I completely missed your post Sean. You know how I feel about this tourney ...... love it. No brackets this year but if had to bet I'd go with Indiana (which means Indiana is bombing out in the second round).

    Duke Sucks.
