I like facebook

Recently I posted a thread here asking if anyone could feed my pets while I'm at Burning Man next week. I got some funny responses, but nothing really helpful: http://www.jambands.ca/sanctuary/showtopic.php?tid/242066/post/465429/

I copied and pasted it as a note on facebook, tagged a few people who live around here in the note, and got several genuine offers to petsit.

Maybe if every single person I knew was on jambands, I would have no use for facebook.

Other things I heart about facebook: Miranda's photoshop contest, when I won a guinea pig photo competition, having a rss feed of my blog import notes so everyone can see my crafts, being facebook invited to events for things that may have been posted on this board but for whatever reason I never clicked on the thread, or events like the new burners info night that I only heard about cuz it showed up in my news feed that one of my friends was attending (who is now on the same flight as us, thanks to facebook) and, like Becky, I also love status updates.

Now that's cuteoverload material!

Hey Everyone

I'm going to Burning Man soon, and I'm looking for someone to feed my guinea pigs while I'm gone.

I'd need someone to come over once a day from the 26th of August to the 4th or 5th of September to give them fresh food and water.

They are cute and will talk and sing to you and make you smile, and stand up and beg like a puppy for a treat.

I live near King and Victoria (10 minute walk from Pepperjacks )

And I will pay you for your time.

If you can do it except for CTMF, (or just some part of the week) that might still be okay.

I moved away from the area like two years ago - are Second Spin and Flash and Crash really gone?

Sonic Boom is huge though, and open late... I seem to always find what I'm looking for there. I'd think it would be a big enough draw without the couple of other tiny used CD stores around.

Yeah, I was trying to show the difference in the two... in the google one, there is a big giant school on that corner. In the live maps one (and in reality) it is now just a big field.

Counted really quickly, and theres actually a picture and options to change and stuff this time. woohoo!

Wow the msn one is much more accurate than google.

The RHCP's put on some brutal concerts thanks to Anthony and his continual pitch problems. Lose him and they are one killer band.

Saw their last Toronto show, and I thought it was awesome. Didn't notice any pitch problems (honestly how many people actually have perfect pitch and could tell that?) The energy of the show was amazing, the lighting was better than I have seen at any other show, and I don't think the crowd would have been so into it (which is what really makes the show) if they didn't have Anthony running around acting like a maniac. Lose him, lose half their fans...
