    Prairie Girl Needs Air Tour

    July 2005

    Wed, July 20 — Tongue ‘n Groove, Lethbridge, 312 2nd Avenue South, 403-320-7074 - Show at 9 pm, $5 cover

Thurs, July 21 — Twin Butte General Store AB, Show at 8 pm, 403-627-4035 ($8 cover or two for $15)

Fri, July 22 — Café Del Mar, Red Deer 102-4808 Ross Street, 403-352-8844

    Sat, July 23 — McNally Robinson, Calgary, 120 8th Ave SW, 1-866-798-1797 - Show 7:30 – 9:30 pm

Horachek’s second album is currently being recorded in Vancouver where she has partnered with John MacArthur Ellis (Jeremy Fisher, Allen Dobb, The Be Good Tanyas, Barney Bentall), whose production flavors her distinct brand of songwriting that is artful and accessible. Since Horachek is currently living in Victoria, she has replaced the open road with the open sea, regularly commuting to Vancouver. Despite the electric energy generated in the making of the new album, long days in the windowless studio means this “Prairie Girl Needs Air” and is using a Western Canadian tour to get just that.

    Come check out the shows!

  2. Added to the bill very recently are two artists you will hear more from very soon...they're wicked good:

    Jacqueline Rendell - www.jacquelinerendell.com

and Jude Haines who's website I believe is under construction...but I can tell you this, I heard the demos from the new record and it's a star-studded lineup, amazing songs.

I hope you all have a chance to check out this one of a kind event in downtown toronto :)

  3. This is a multi-room event, actually involving two separate buildings that neighbour each other. The set up is really cool -

There'll be a buskers area outside during the afternoon, while DJs spin inside one building. The larger building will open in the late afternoon when the bands will begin. By the way, there are a few more potential bands to add to the bill, but I'm not going to jinx that by saying who. The smaller room will maintain a DJ lineup all day and night, while the larger room will feature bands in the evening and DJs following!

There's also talk of a pretty big day-after party at a beach nearby...

I recommend checking this out, at least some of it 'cause it's going all day!

Hope you can make it out!

  6. This is an amazing program. I've been using different versions for the past 5 years or so and know my way around it pretty well.

There are some really handy tools and interesting ways to use the software.

If you've got some specific questions, PM me and I'll do my best to get you an answer ASAP.

All the best, and let's hear what you come up with!!

    Peace,

    Dynamo

  7. Last time I played in the U.S. we just went accross separately and told them we were going to a friend's party in NY. We had all of our gear checked with customs and the sent us on our way. This was pre 9-11 tho, so they're likely more strict now.

Might consider just going down as a tourist and renting gear there...

  8. Hey how'd you get involved in this drum clinic thing?

It's actually Brad who's performing, not me...I wish I could drum well enough to do this! I don't think they accept keyboard player drummers :)

Anyway, Brad was invited to take part, I believe by Long & McQuade. Brad's easily the most creative drummer I've played with and it's an honour. He certainly deserves this recognition!

If you ever get a chance to see Brad (aka Badnutbeats, DirtyB) play, you should take it!

    Ben

  9. Tomorrow afternoon will bring some of today's finest drummers together for a performance in Toronto!

    Featured performers include:

*Brad Park (The Void, Dynamo & Badnutbeats)

    *Keith Carlock (Steely Dan, Sting)

    *Liberty Devito (Billy Joel)

    *Jimmy Degrasso (Megadeth/Suicidal Tendancies)

    *Jeremy Taggart (Our Lady Peace)

    and more!

Humber College Auditorium (Lakeshore Campus) - 3199 Lakeshore Blvd.

Call Long & McQuade drum department for ticket info and performance schedule (416)588-7886.

Big ups to my man Brad!!! Great to see you share the stage with these musicians!
