Quite an interesting read:
Preview: "evidence that Marijuana Prohibition was created in 1937, not to protect society from the "evils of the drug Marijuana," as the Federal government claimed, but as an act of deliberate economic and industrial sabotage against the re-emerging Industrial Hemp Industry."

E's good for the troops, but pot's bad for the MS & Cancer patients...
Makes sense huh?

All ages gigs for sure...you might even find some more young bucks to suck
Seriously though, work on their package (press package sicko, not the "downstairs" package) and get the word out to some booking agencies and venues. Find the most "sellable" features they have and "milk" 'em.
In Toronto, a place called The Kathedral often has all ages nights...

Very happy to hear this news! I'll still use something more versatile for my sets in a live setting, but what a great piece for the studio and some of the bigger shows!
About the pre-amp, if you can get your hands on a Leslie pre, you will probably poop yer pants

I saw Carlos open for Ray Charles @ The Hummingbird about 1 1/2 yrs ago. Awesome player and the tunes are fun! This one's a good bet!

Phish - Providence R.I. NYE Run (I think Dec 29th) 1994 - David Bowie was about 30 mins long to start set 2. Unreal and quite spooky
-
The start time has been pushed back to 9:00pm, but there'll still be 3 sets
-
1992 @ The Spectrum in T.O. was my first Phish show...it cost me $10 to get in If I'm not mistaken, that was the first Canadian gig(?).
4 shows at The Concert Hall in T.O. throughout 93 & 94 were great! The Dude of Life was at one... Some fun times hangin' with Mike at the pizza/sub joint down the road...

Last time I saw Days Of You was in Toronto at Rock & Roll Heaven opening for Kingfish...(89,90 or 91 I think)
Oh my gosh!! I was there too... I forgot about that night until you mentioned it. Wasn't that at the Spectrum? I saw Phish at the Spectrum in 92...cost me $10.

It's a short notice announcement! Come join The Void on Thursday evening at The Miller for three downtempo sets, beginning at 8pm. There is no cover!

Walkin' in on my girl dancin' and singin' while playing solitaire on the PC...and her of course not knowing I was there

I've heard of this before...and judging by what's out there on the charts these days, a lot of silly producers are using it!

Review - The Void @ The El Mo, Jan 13/05 by Sea @ UniversalMetropolis.com
Dynamo's opinion: The night was great despite the fact that Bootyjuice dried up at the border. The people in attendance all had a great time, danced, and stayed to the very end The only unfortunate thing about the whole evening is that the audio recording didn't work! Another 2.5hrs of tunes for the gods...
Thanks y'all for being there! Hope to see you soon!

I'd love it if someobody could write an article (to be accessible as a resource on jambands.com, for example) detailing what needs to be done for an American band to play shows up here.
Excellent idea. Perhaps another for the requirements for Canadian bands heading to the U.S. as well...
I've played U.S. dates before, but we sorta did it under the radar...separate vehicles therefore not many instruments in one vehicle etc, and we just said we were visiting friends for a party. It took us a little longer because we made sure that our gear was all inventoried with customs so we didn't get taxed on the way home.
BTW, last night was fun, despite the lack of Bootyjuice. There was some Booty-shakin', and some nice Booty, but no Juice
-
I was looking forward to their performance, especially after hearing the record.
It was a fun night regardless and The Void was more than happy to play 2 sets.
Maybe BJ can be talked into coming back through T.O. before heading home??? Jaydawg??

Wish I could be a part of that night, but am performing elsewhere...perhaps we can co-ordinate and pool some donations...

G.Love would rock!

Woodchoppers was very interesting indeed! I had a chance to watch for about 20 mins after the set upstairs.
The Join is more a background thing at the Drake lounge...you're right, lots of pretty people looking at other pretty people. Not much attention on the music

I'm pretty sure there is NO GIG at Harmony tonight. Harmony has eliminated their weekly and bi-weekly schedules of bands (even monthy if I'm not mistaken). They're now opting for a more "one-off" approach to their live music offerings...
Check with Harmony @ (416)534-1987
I'm sure a request to have the band back would help!
Peace, and happy NY!!!

Lots of options but I think your best bet would be the 427 south to the Gardiner. If the Gardiner is closed, you can take Lakeshore Ave. instead...a nice smooth ride too
