  1. hahah. i'm so happy to be moving to town

Halifax had it's proximity to festivals during the summer - sunseeker's in june, shoreline in july, (evolve too, however i cant go this year).

This summer, the local shows were at a standstill, save for 2 Slowco shows.

tonight was my last night at the seahorse tavern, a small 'hole in the ground' on argyle st. every thursday they have a 'no cover blues jam', each week they let other musicians come up on stage and play a song or 2. they've also got this home-brew called 'horsepower ale' which is my favorite beer righ tnow. check out this place if your ever in town on thursday night.

  2. d&t live is a guarenteed good time. very original i guess...there is a clip of them performing on the Bonnaroo '02 dvd.

I havent been following thier new material since their last stop at sneaky dee's, but for some reason i think that i will not want to miss a single of these 4 dates.

  3. actually they played at sneaky dee's last summer.

Nihilist Spasm Band opened for them. now that was THE most single f*cked up band i've ever seen. It was an hour & a half of noise....middle aged men banging on their instruments. Tuba rocked the house. it was a solid under-attended show.

  4. Does anyone want to burn this for me for blanks & postage?

    i'm in halifax.

I'm pretty sure my computer's sound card only supports 44.1 khz...this dvd being 48 khz causes distortion...so i cant really watch this on my computer.

  5. Hi all,

Sorry if this has come up already, but a group of collectors have purchased an original 16mm movie reel featuring Genesis performing a 5 song selection from the Selling england by the pound tour.

For those of you who are familiar with this video, usually dubbed "shepperton studios" or "Oxford 1973" would know how many various versions are floating around, each boasting superior video/audio quality.

Anyway, this group of collectors spent a whole wad of cash to restore and digitally transfer the film frame-by-frame. It is the definative version, finally made public in early July...It blows all older copies of this movie out of the water.

    enjoy

  6. Mmmmm, I dont want to try and set the record straight and say who is wrong and who is right, just a heads up that if your willing to dig up that old episode, it may shead more light on the issue.

as for that x-mas episode...I dont want to deal with the continuity errors of it all...haha i honestly don't know. I think that it was good ol' plain filler in the void between tpb seasons. a xmas gift from our dartmouth friends, so to say.

  7. Actually, I have a different answer.

In season 1, the episode where Mrs. peterson's dog eats the brownies and Trinity shoots rickey, Julian takes them to that Vet, Sam. He helps the dog and rickey in exchange that they steal a riding mower from some farmer...when the do this, the farmer comes out with his shotgun and shoots rickey and the mic-boom operator from the tv crew. THAT guy is definatly your man, he goes off screaming the usual stuff...and you clearly see his face. Now i'm not sure if its the usual mic-boom holder, or if someone on the crew filled that roll just for 1 shot...possibly the director or someone else. You guys be the judges.

last nights episode was pretty good

  8. On Showcase they air 2 episodes of the show per night

The first being season 5 material, the second being a random old episode.

Your co-worker obviously tuned in at the wrong time.

Althouh, the first scene in that episode where randy lahey and julian are on the bus home from prison, randy's stomach slaps another passengeres face...priceless.

  9. hahah. I'm movin in with thegoodRev if all goes according to plan...the plan is a band of some sort, 2 dummers, keys, bass, 2 guitars as of yet...this should be good practice.

I did see the dead 3 times last summer...but even so my knowledge of titles is conciderably small. I am progressivly becoming more and more aware of the music everyday...the only ones i've attempted to play are Eyes and sugar mag.

Give me a list of songs to learn

    peace
