    Duly noted....

i was actually asking a question, not providing nvivo fodder.

  2. my first graphic memory of the taliban was when they destroyed those gigantic sandstone carvings in afghanistan, long before 9/11. note the two little dots on the feet ... they are people.

    2001-03-22-buddha2.jpg

even then they were labelled barbarians.

  3. there was a headline in the paper the other day, something like "Taliban strength grows" and i thought, wow, how is it that the Taliban even still exists today?

great job, dubya. mission accomplished. keep up the good work.

  4. listen to the broadcast on saturday night. actually sounded better than at the show and I was pleased they mixed in aud on the recording. sounded great.

i took the show poster in to be plaqued too.

  6. Given the reason for our long weekend, the new theme is to list songs which reference crucifixion, persecution, or saviours. If there is a direct reference, quote the line after the song.

    1. Grateful Dead - Unbroken Chain ("Roll you down the line boy, drop you for a loss, Ride you out on a cold railroad and nail you to a cross.")

    2. Soundgarden - Jesus Christ Pose

    5. Ernie Marrs - Plastic Jesus

    6. Rheostatics - Jesus Was Once a Teenager Too

    7. Dead Kennedys - Moral Majority

    8. Ministry - Psalm 69

    9. Bauhaus - Stigmata Martyr

    In a crucifixation ecstasy

    Lying cross chequed in agony

    Stigmata bleed continuously

Holes in head, hands feet, and weep for me.

    Stigmata oh you sordid sight

    Stigmata in your splintered plight

    Look to your crimson orifice

    In holy rememberance

    In scarlet bliss.

  14. 5. David Bowie - Fame (John Lennon)

    really? what's the story here?

Google the song. One interesting thing is that their voices are almost identical on the song.

the distinctive soprano fame > fame fame fame fame > bass fame vocal near the end of the song is lennon.

i debated between this and the 'jeux sans frontier' Kate Bush vocal in Garbriel's Games Without Frontiers

    both are generally uncredited.
