  1. LOL, yeah, he's just being a host, nothing unexpected thats for sure, although this was the statement from the get-go. Bob was just going to be a host. Seems people were or might have been expecting performces or chronicles type stories.

Its not somthing for the casual or non-Dylan fan, only people really interested in this are the Dylanologists & hardcore Dylan collectors.

  2. You could use http://beta.yousendit.com/

I know there are other file transfer sites, but I use this one the most. Usually, I mp3 the file(s), then zip or rar it.

    [edit to add]

You don't really need to use an email address, you are given a link to your upload once it completes. But, as a back up I somtimes enter my own email, which also gives me the link to the upload/download.

  3. that site is fucked!

    greg, that site is fucked.

    scarey to say the least.

Personally, I think whats fucked is the effects of such a disaster, not to mention reading on another board where most people seem to think the reports of how bad it truly was and still is are grossly exaggerated. I found the pictures extremely moving and very sad, at the same time I was offended also. But certianly not by the site.

I guess I should of mentioned this first (from that link)

Photgrapher Robert Knoth and reporter Antoinette de Jong have documented the impact of nuclear radiation in these four regions since spring 1999. A book of their work, Certificate No. 00358/ Nuclear Devastation in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, the Urals and Siberia, is published with the support of Greenpeace International and Unicef Netherlands.

My apologys to anyone who may be offended by the pictures.

  4. This is a quote from the messageboard at the above link:

Why is it day light in B.C. when it's still dark in Toronto?
Hi, I am not sure of the geography of Canada, but it you mean the Eagles are in Daylight, it just means you are seeing a replay of yesterday.............the live feed starts at dawn......it is still nightime in Eagle time.!!
  5. Well, there ya go.

I spoke a bit longer with my friend & he mentioned that toast titanium will do exactly what he mentioned (quoted in my previous post) and is about the fastest and easiest way to do it.

Like I said, I know nothing about macs, so all I can do is offer what I'm passed along.

I never come across bin/cue files anymore and when I do I use a mounting program from Daemon Tools to mount the image, usually they are files from games which I never burn to CD/DVD anyway, but occasionaly, I've seen a VCD with them.

  6. I inquired with a friend who has a mac and trades DVDs/VCDs etc, heres what he told me.

Toast will do this directly. Just drop the larger (in MB) of the two files onto Toast and it will load in the "image file" and be ready to burn it to disc.

I know nothing about macs, so I can't be of much help. Sorry.

Although, you could try to convert the bin/cue files to ISO then burn, I do that now with all DVDs I download ever since my burner stopped burning normal DVD files (VOB, BUP etc), as well avi and haven't yet had a coaster on my DVD player, as well no complaints from anyone I gave them to.

    [color:red][edit to add]

Was it originally a DVD? Because, converting bin/cue files to burn on DVD does nothing for quality and if it was a VCD orginally, that could also be the problem.

  7. Up which way Steve? Bass are usually always in june (all my life anyway), but pickerel are the third saturday in may around Huntsville, which this year happenes to be the 20th, we go the 23rd.

  8. During my time at ghosttown for ctmf (2000-2003), I always had a serious blast, but I was also always accused by Mark Wilson that I snuck in even after buying a block of tix or a single from Julie at Shady Grove... 028.gif, so I don't feel so bad missing this one.

Last friday was my friends cut-off time for booking days off, which he was 2 weeks late doing and instead of a 4 day weekend he was offered a 6 day weekend if he worked the long weekend & took his holiday starting tuesday. No word had been posted about tickets as of friday 5pm, so a decsion was made. Fishing in the north for a week, I ain't complainnig.

    Have a blast folks.

  9. Can you guys recommend an awesome starter show for someone (me) who hasn't heard the band before?

    Thanks!

Well the guys have gone through a few member changes over the years, from being a 6 (somtimes 7) piece band with a female singer (92-94) to a 4 piece, now back to a 5 piece (perfect number), so the reccomendations will vary, at least from me.

    My picks:

    [color:red]1992-1994

1993-01-20 (radio program great intro of who they are/were)

    1994-04-01 Merritt Hall

    [color:red]1996-1997

1996-06-26 Town Hall, Field BC (acoutstic full band, 1st west coast tour)

1997-02-28 Mrs. Robinsons (FM broadcast) (great show)

1997-09-16 (acoustic full band) La Lunas (1st show with new drummer at the time, Joel Stouffer, also, original organ player Tyler playing))

    [color:red]1998-2000

    1998-03-12 The Vault St. Catherines

    1999-03-11 Montreal

    [color:red]2001-2003

2001-09-21 Lancaster Tavern (jambands.ca festival) acoustic full band A++

2002-06-29 Ghosttown (Dave sings!, although not the first time as I posted there)

    [color:red]2004-2006 (current line-up)

    2004-01-10 Call the office

    2004-12-31 Pepper Jacks

    2005-03-17 Casbah

    2005-05-20 CTMF

If your looking for one single show to check out, I'd say go with a current line-up, then check out:

2005-03-17 Casbah, which is a great mix of older & newer Fatties songs. Throw in the 2006-04-20 show for a taste of whats going on now, as well a new song.

Hope that helps, I know its more then one show, but after seeing & listening to a few hundred shows, it gets hard for me to pick just one, but those in my opinion are choice in each group. I'm sure other people would have equally good reccomendations.

    Cheers
