I'd be up for somthing like that, personally, I'm not sure how to set up all that with two different devices, but it is all about learning right.

Is "cookin'" a normal song the band plays? because i know for sure i've heard the bass line from that song used as a short solo in another song. I asked Dave to bust' out that solo and he ended up playin' in for the entire song. what a way to satisfy a request!
Cookin' is a Fat cats tune, played countless times over the years, always a favourite of mine also. Not to sure about the bass line, but anythings possible.
Thanks for the kind words kookycanooky. Always appreciated.

Brad,
Yep, considered it many times. But that would also require purchasing a new rig, pre-amp(?) and mics right?. Somthing I'm not currently capable of covering right now. I did have more control over the recording when I had my laptop, but since it was ruined on my birthday last year, thats no longer an option.
Outside of a couple folks like larry_llama & \/\/illy, Hamilton seems to have lost all our tapers, personally I enjoy recording immensely, but recording isn't my strong point, as has been mentioned by many a listener of my recordings.

Thanks Kevin, much appreciated.
You can even hear Lazlo yelling out at the end of 'Down Again', that fucker! I'm sure you'll know what I mean.

Harrison is the man!
Another of Hamilton's musical treasures. I remember years back when I first became aware of Harrison, it was on the third floor of the Gown & Gavel, a tiny little smoke filled room packed over capacity. Harrison was belting out so many amazing songs accompianed by Brian Griffith on guitar (his spacey one). Those were fun daze...
This is the night before Willie, but I am going try to make it down for this.
Cheers

Well, I got it up, although I'm a bit disappointed with myself, it appears that I didn't reset the input volume before Fat Cats went on stage resulting in the volume being a little louder then I usually like to have it.
The sound itself at the show was up, so I really should have been on top of it. You can hear what I'm talking about during the first two tracks, especially in the vocals (as noted), mainly Todd's. I did realize during the second song and had the output from the board to my recorder turned down (thanks Doug), but its still sorta loud.
But, thats 420 for ya I guess...
Don't let a short looking set fool ya, especially the smoking "Cookin", about 4:20 minutes in, awesome stuff, great jam. Also, the opener(s) kick ass, can't remember the last time a Fatties show opened with "You & Doobie Break" (first time?), either way, full force. Its great to see 'Absolute Route' gettin played more lately too.

Notes:
- volume levels were up at the begininng of the show on the stage, SBD & my recorder (previous band setting), especially the vocals. I turned down my input levels after the second song, but they are still sort of loud. The stage volume remained pretty loud during the first half of the show, which is represented in the amount of feedback on stage you can hear throughout.

Haha, thanks for the link. I was wondering about some of the same things mentioned in it, especially now since I decided to join up & expirence the new so called "cyber-phenomenon".
Not sure if I've found any useful purpose yet (for me anyway) outside of shameless self promotion, but time will tell I guess.

Hey maybe I'll visit ya on our way if ya do Willy, we're thinking Cyprus Lake in Tobermory now, seeing as times a ticking and not everyone I'm with can wait much longer to book off sometime at work.
Not too mention feels like driving all over to find a ticket.

Correction, I wouldn't be able to visit on our way as I was mistaking Honey Harbour with somehwere else.

Old Crow Medicine Show

Written by Bob Dylan with additional lyrics by Ketch Secor
Performed by the Old Crow Medicine Show
Headed down south to the land of the pines
And I'm thumbin' my way into North Caroline
Starin' up the road
And pray to God I see headlights
I made it down the coast in seventeen hours
Pickin' me a bouquet of dogwood flowers
And I'm a hopin' for Raleigh
I can see my baby tonight
So rock me mama like a wagon wheel
Rock me mama anyway you feel
Hey mama rock me
Rock me mama like the wind and the rain
Rock me mama like a south-bound train
Hey mama rock me
Runnin' from the cold up in New England
I was born to be a fiddler in an old-time stringband
My baby plays the guitar
I pick a banjo now
Oh, the North country winters keep a gettin' me now
Lost my money playin' poker so I had to up and leave
But I ain't a turnin' back
To livin' that old life no more
So rock me mama like a wagon wheel
Rock me mama anyway you feel
Hey mama rock me
Rock me mama like the wind and the rain
Rock me mama like a south-bound train
Hey mama rock me
Walkin' to the south out of Roanoke
I caught a trucker out of Philly
Had a nice long toke
But he's a headed west from the Cumberland Gap
To Johnson City, Tennessee
And I gotta get a move on fit for the sun
I hear my baby callin' my name
And I know that she's the only one
And if I die in Raleigh
At least I will die free
So rock me mama like a wagon wheel
Rock me mama anyway you feel
Hey mama rock me
Rock me mama like the wind and the rain
Rock me mama like a south-bound train
Hey mama rock me

Yeah Brian is smokin!! Another one of Hamilton's little treasures...
I didn't know he was jackie's son either... whadya know?
It's been too long since I last saw him play. Where is he giggin these days? Still 33?
Correction, my mistake, Brian is actually Jackie's nephew not his son...not sure why I thought that earlier.
I'm requesting a mulligan on that...
Brian is playing thursdays (I believe) at the Cat & Fiddle on John st.

And yes, I know you were kiddin...
-
Yep, I recorded last night. Not sure if FoH are on archive & I know Riddum Riders aren't, but the Fatties show (which I'm listening to now) I hope to upload later today, but tomorrow is probally a better bet, so I imagine since its the weekend, it won't be approved at archive until tuesday..lol, my last shows took 72+ hours.
-
Just having the first coffee of the day, stumbled in the door around 6:30am & outta bed about a half hour ago (LOL) with one serious headache...been many a year since I felt anything like this, wow.
The bands torn it up, man...FoH were great as usual, especially pulling out that 'I never cared for you' off Teatro..thank you, that was awesome.
Riddum Riders, well, after what seemed like a really long break between bands, when they finally took the stage, made up for the late start. Great vocals & beats. Enjoyed it immensely, love seeing old friends kick ass on stage. I'm really looking forward to (& curious) to listening to the recording later.
Fat Cats, what can I say that I haven't already said before...my favourite band, period. Kicked off the show with a smokin in your face 'You' (just listened to it again...man oh man), not sure the last time Fatties opened a show with that one, but 420 was definitely an appropriate night for it! Thanks guys for yet another awesome night of music. (loving the new song...wtf is it called???)
Great seeing so many folks from the board (and meeting new ones!) as well the rest of the usual suspects found staggerin' around a Fatties show.
Baj, I lovesound great seeing you guys out and to meet raggaemuffin (sp?), can ya let your friend Mike know I'll get that Riddum Riders recording out to ya soon for him, I didn't forget.
kookycanooky, thanks my friend, great seeing ya again. Now if I can just find the other discs....lol
Thanks kc & briguy for throwin one serious good night of party, music, friends & alcoholism, as well Doug for a great job on the board.
Cheer all, I neeeded that.
